A Far Trek
The Sea Folk. A very unpleasant bunch, really. A haughty, arrogant, ignorant people. Kerin hated everyone of them. She stepped from the gateway onto the sand of the beach. It shifted under her bare feet, but she stood steady, the Power flooding her. Her white gown swished around her ankles as she walked, the breeze blowing it back behind her with her hair. Her eyes, surrounded by her customary dark paints, were solid chips of green ice. She was purpose afoot, need walking, destiny moving.

She walked quickly along the beach, the surf rolling in, stopping inches away from her feet. The sand left indentations where she had walked, a tell-tale sign someone had been thre recently. She moved along quickly, not pausing as men and women began appearing along the row of trees not far off. They stared at this strange woman in white as she walked down the beach, driven by her need, her want, to do as her master had requested. Her desire to see him smile in satisfaction at her job well done.

She turned, seeing what she wanted, seeing what she needed. A normal person would not have, not at this range, but she had saidar guiding her, and saidar fillign her eyes. A row of men approached her directly, two women trailing along behind them. She paid them no mind as she channeled.

"Let no one interfere."

A wall of air moved out, pushing them apart and to each side. Startled shouts and gasps rose from them as they were pushed out of her path. The two women, Kerin realized, could channel.

Saidar reached out to her from two directions. Flows of spirit, to shield her from the source. She wove quickly, and without mercy. She severed both flows as she drove a block of air through one woman's torso. She came apart in a spray of red mist, taken aback by the ferocity of Kerin's counter-attack. The second tried again, throwing up distraction weaves as she reached for Kerin's connection to the source again. Kerin stopped her weave with a block of her own, and sent two needles of fire through the air, to pierce the woman's eyes and send her toppling to the ground.

"They will show you no mercy. If they shield you, they will kill you. Going there is a trespass. Every moment that you are there, they will try to kill you. Every moment you are there, your life is in unarguable danger."

Kerin walked along, leaving a few stunned senseless men and two bodies behind. Horns were blowing, alarms ringing, men running, women scrambling. She walked ahead, eyes set on her treasure. Her prize. Her goal.

A man came at her, a spear raised in his hands. Her eyes flickered to lock onto his, and he faltered. In that moment's hesitation, she reached into his mind with a flow of spirit, and destroyed everything she found. He fell to the ground, screaming in anguish so pure, so unfiltered, that everyone else took a step back, as if expecting him to explode. His screams wrenched the air, shattered the silence. More men were running towards her now. Saidar swirled in storms around her, a blizzard of air and ice. She formed icicles as long as a man's arm and sent them hurtling at impossible speeds through the men running towards her. Air swept out at those that got too close, cutting like razors through weapons and flesh.

On she went, screams raising in her wake, blood flowing freely wherever she passed. She did not stop until she reached it. The statue, of a woman, holding a crystal orb. She reached out to the statue, carressed it, felt the answering throb of power around her. The glory it promised. The power, the ability to be able to channel more than any other person, dead or alive. She tied off her shields that kept away her attackers and released saidar, reaching out to it again throug the statue.

An echoing scream of "NOOOOOOOOOO!!!" tore the air as Kerin felt the Power storm into her. The crystal lit with brilliant radiance, shining brightly as saidar poured into Kerin in rivers and oceans. Her eyes widened with the ecstasy, her back arched, her arms spread to the heavens. Saidar was everything. The entire Tower, it seemed, could not have combined to channel this much of the Power. It boiled and rolled through her body, filled every pore until it demanded to be released, demanded to be allowed to save her from the people around her.

Saidar lashed out in ropes as big around as tree trunks. It spiraled around her, ripping apart bodies, casting aside heads and limbs, bits of torso. Blood hung thick in the air. Blood ran in rivers across the ground. People screamed as they ran.

From the depths of the statue suddenly came another. One identical in every way to the one before Kerin, only much, much smaller. Small enough to hold in one hand. She reached out, callign it to her, and took hold of it. People continued to die around her. Kerin paid them no mind. She cared not if these fiends died. She cared not if they all rotted, forgotten here, for all time. She had what she had come for. She closed her eyes in brilliant ecstasy, clutching the miniature to her chest. With this miniature, she would be able to call on this power anytime, anywhere. It was the key, the link to this mighty place. She felt herself weaving, did not recognize the weaves, but saw a gateway slice open before her. A tendril of saidar slipped through, splitting apart the wall before her, blowing it backwards in splinters. She let the storm die, and the gateway close. Slowly, she let saidar drain from her until she stood in the newly opened-up building. Master was here.

She saw the blond woman first, kneeling next to his chair. He was watching her. Kerin sagged. Now that saidar had left her, the storm of it's passing greatly tired her. It was all she could do to stay on her feet. "Master," she whispered. She slowly slipped to her knees. Her hands stayed on the statue, her grip white-knuckled on it. "I have.. got it."

Re: A Far Trek
"Excellent," Ranine said, springing to his feet, giving her a hard kiss. "You please me well. Now, go and get some extra rest. You have deserved it. I'll have a servent bring you your diner. If you're especially good, you may have this back."

Ranine tucked away the statue. She would be in his pocket for certain now. Hopefully there would be no request for it, from either side.

Watching her move off to her bedroom, Ranine turned back to Sophie, who's face was set into a deep scowl. She didn't like others getting his attention. All the better for him. Jelousy did wonders.

"But not nearly as well as you please me," he said, scooping up Sophie. "We'll go have some fun that doesn't exhaust you."

With a gigle from her, he set off for his own quarters. He had earned a few pleasures as well.

Re: A Far Trek
Kerin's head spun in her fatigue. She never even registered that he was kissing her until after her had finished, and the rough feel of his lips on hers tingled it's way into her brain. She felt the statue slip from her grip and felt a deep pang of loss. But at the same time, his promise to give it back if she was good lifted her spirits back up and she nodded wearily. "Thank you, master.." she whispered, and stumbled towards her rooms. She would have to eat her dinner in the morning, or whenever she woke up, she knew. She was about to pass out where she stood. But she hoped it was a big meal... she was going to be very very hungry when she awoke.
