A citizen whose had enough...
A young woman of Oriental descent walks into the offices of Project Rebirth, looks around, and heads over to the receptionist. She asks for an application, and then heads over to a chair and fills it out. In the history section she writes the following:

My name is Li Hwa, and I was born and raised on the slopes of Shaoshi Mountain in the Henan Province of China. Here I learned traditional medicine, core values, and a thorough immersion in the martial arts, for my honorable parents were servants in the rebuilt Shaolin Temple. My whole family, along with all other Temple servants, were encouraged to study alongside the monks once our duties in the Temple and on the grounds were complete, though that training was mostly in Wushu and T'ai Chi Ch'uan, and not in the traditional forms of Shaolin Gung Fu, as the Chinese government destroyed the temples in the 1920's and the monks fled to other parts of the country or fled to other nations.

I left China as a teenager at the behest of my family, and was fostered to one of the exiled monks who was living in America. In his house, I learned several of the traditional forms of Shaolin Gung Fu, and continued my journey to Tao. Upon completing high school, I came to Paragon City to attend Statesman University, and to connect with another of the exiled Shaolin monks upon his invitation. Although my parents contributed to my education, I also supported myself during this time by offering Gung Fu lessons in the evenings at the local YWCA. After graduating summa cum laude with a degree in sports medicine and minors in Far East studies and business from Statesman University, I rented a second floor dance studio with an attached apartment in the Skyway City neighborhood and opened my own martial arts studio. After two successful years at that location, one of the stores on the ground level next to the stairwell to the second floor opened up, and I was able to rent that space as well, opening up a traditional medicine and holistic health shop catering to the needs of the Asian and health-conscious local population in that part of the city

During the invasion of the Rikti on May 23, 2002, I helped defend the neighborhood, though several of my students lost their lives in the street-by-street fighting. I, too, was wounded in the battle, but recovered in the hospital after the initial invasion was blunted Since then, I sadly watched as the neighborhood's morals decreased and social decay set in with the rise of the gangs. Finally, in the spring of 2004, I decided to let my managers run the shop with minimal oversight from me, and turned most of the teaching at the martial arts academy over to my assistant instructors so that I could take to the streets to help reclaim the city from the increasing lawlessness. To that end, I have registered with the Paragon City Hero Registration Service (PCHRS), as well as the Federal Bureau of Super-powered Affairs - Enhanced Logistics for Insight and Tactical Excellence division (FBSA - ELITE), and begun a campaign to take back the city for the citizens.

This is my story.

OOC: About me
Hi everyone. I'm glad we've found you (players) again, and I've appreciated being dragged around on some of your character's adventures (that lab was really cool).

You may remember me from DAoC as Oakleif/Holti/Ete/Cathal/Hawthorne, and yes, in case you think you remember this, I'm married to the player of Briare Thorne.

Its been a while since we've had a game to really roleplay in, and I'm excited about the opportunity to get back into a group of excellent roleplayers. As you can tell from my character's history, at this point I'm mostly playing off things that happen in the storyline of the game for character development.

Meiyen, have we grouped yet? If not, I'm looking forward to it...I enjoyed looking at your ongoing bio! Great work.

Re: About me
I'm not sure if we have or not, but I've grouped with Thunder Girl and Night Wind, and with Code Fenris and Queen Bee. There were a couple others in the group with CF and QB, but I don't remember who they were, or if you were with them. It was a mission in a high tech lab that looked like the inside of some space ship, if you happen to recall a mission like that.
