Great thread Amber!! Agates are one of my favorite stones! You have to watch agate, as the Brasilian Agate is often dyed, but it is a mineral.....not glass. Agate also is also in the Chalcedony family, and will have some of those properties also. Some agates are banded, some have circular patterns, and some will even resemble fern type patterns. I am going to list a few of the agates that I have and their properties...

Blue Lace Agate:

Blue lace agate displays a blue and white lace pattern. It can help one to reach extremelt high spiritual spaces. It contains the qualities of flight, air, movement, and grace. It is a highly inspirational influence when used for inner attunement.

The energy of this mineral is most useful at the locations of the throat chakra, the heart chakra, the third-eye chakra, and the crown chakra. Activating these chakras, it helps one to enter into high-frequency states of awareness.

Blue lace agate is especially suited to those gentle people with shades of pale blue in their aura.

It can be used in the treatment of arthritic conditions and in cases of "hereditary" bone deformity; it can also be used to strengthen the skeletal structure. It is quite helpful when used to enhance the mending of breaks and fractures, and for the regulation of the developmental process of the fingernails and toenails. Blue lace agate can help to remove blockages from nervous system and from capillaries of the body. It can be used in treatment of disorders of the pancreas and of those glands inherently associated with digestion. It is of assistance in eliminating outwardly manifested growths.

This mineral can also be used for fluid balance around the brain; the hydrcephalic may find relief from the condition by using a liquid elixer of this stone. It also is used for the attunement within the fleshy cellular structure, promoting cohesiveness in thought and maintenance of the state of health. It has also been used as an elixer to sooth eyes and to diminish dilation of the blood vesseld in the iris.

Moss Agate:

Moss agate is a transparent to translucent agate containing inclusions of minerals resembling moss or foliage. It is usually found in massive form and occasionaly within the configeration of a thunderegg. The color range include red, green, yellow, brown, and black-brown.

Moss agate leads one toward the characteristics of agreeability, persuasiveness, strength in all endevors, and efficacy in all pursuits. It helps to improve ego and self-esteem, providing for emotional balancing and strengthening of the positive personallity traits. It allows one to see the beauty within all that ones eyes touch.

It can be used to provide for communication with and between the plant and mineral kingdoms; the information is often relative to methods for enhancing the stability of the planet. It has also been used in agricultural pursuits and has been successful in promoting growth of new crops.

In early times, it was used by Native Americans as a power stone. It has successfully been used in the art of "cloud-busting" and in helping the weather patterns to reach ultimate equilibration.

It is said to help one in acquisition of riches. It is also to bring one the powers of speed.

It can be used in the treatment of dehydration and disorders of the eyes, to ameliorate fungal infections, to stimulate digestion and the elimination of toxins from the body, and to relieve the symptoms of colds, internal infections, and flu. When used as an elixer, it is quite effective in an elixer for the topical treatment of skin disorders and infections.
