Alaren is not what most would consider to be beautiful, but with warm, dark eyes, chocolate-brown hair and porcelain skin, she certainly has the potential to be pretty in her own right; yet Alaren does little to present this image of herself. Always modest, always serious, she hides her beauty with high necked dresses and a cold expression. The skin about her eyes is ceaseless from years without smiling. She stands about 5’7, thin but not skinny. When it comes to appearance, she prefers function over form; well, in most circumstances.
History:
Born in Whitebridge, Alaren ran away from her childhood home at a young age and in the company of Arigan Doth. They intended to seek adventure in Tear, but were separated in Caemlyn. There, Alaren was apprenticed by a healer and soon discovered her passion for medicine. While living with her tutor, she kept mostly to herself, spending nearly all of her time studying, but yet she became well known for her surprising ability. A visiting Aes Sedai immediately recognized her talent as an ability to channel, and she was taken to the White Tower to train.
Alaren was raised to the shawl as a Sister of the Yellow Ajah, and eventually became a Sitter. Newly raised, she impulsively bonded Saker Mandell, a fateful decision that would lead her to the most turbulent portion of her life. Despite their persistent loyalty towards one another, the two fought constantly. Saker eventually discovered that he was heir to the lost kingdom of Manetheren, and Alaren agreed to follow him to Manetheren to serve as his Aes Sedai Queen. Yet she never had the opportunity to receive her throne; she was left behind in Baerlon after the bond between her and Saker had been severed, and was later assumed to be dead after a battle in Tear.
Alaren was rescued from the battle by an old man, one who happened to be looking for Saker, and has spent the past three months or so living with him in the woods outside of Manetheren. She believes her Warder to be dead and soon intends to return to the Tower, unless she should find some reason to stay.
