Dh and I have the same argument over and over. He has a little boy and I of course love him very much. We talk about when it happens for us and he said I need to feel the same about both children. I wouldnt treat them different but isnt it normal to have different feelings about the child you carried? I would like to know how your dh can tell you how to feel. I didn't know that was possible to feel a certain way because you were "told to". I feel differently about my SS and my adopted son. They are two different people. I feel differently about my mom and my dad. Does it mean I love one more than the other-NO! You just feel different about different people. That's why they are DIFFERENT!! From what I understand, even women w/ several natural born children feel differently about each child. Some are more like the parent so they feel a closer connection with that specific child. They still love all their children just as much as that one. Next time, try to "tell" your dh how he should feel about something. Maybe he'll get the hint. Here's my take. I have both,birth children (i have 4) and 2 steps that we keep every other week. PLEASE don't take this in a bad way but I cannot feel the same about my steps as I do my own children that I conceived,carried,birthed and nursed.I am sorry but I just can't.My dh says that he loves mine as much as he does his own.Well,I don't believe him..LOL...I tell him it is impossible! We get along wonderfully.he's a doll and I he is a wonderful step dad! We have been trying for over 3 years now.We had 1 m/c in Oct 2002 That was devastating! I had a tubal after my 4th (all my kids are with my 1st husband).I was only 24. My 2nd dh and I were married in '98 and I had the tubal reversed in Dec 2000. It's been terribly difficult,especially since I had no trouble with the first 3 (I had a little trouble w/#4).People made fun of me because I had so many so close together.I don't care,Iwouldn't do a thing different except NOT TUBAL!! So,I am in agreement with Jessica! Don't get me wrong,I love dh's kids as much as I possibly can but not the same as my own. Jennifer
