Another Michigander
Hello from Lansing .

Altho not an amputee myself, my 13 yo daughter who was born with PFFD is very interested in riding.

Personally I'm scared stiff of horses! I prefer to ride motorcycles which like me are old! lol

Welcome, Keith!

You are only about 30 minutes from me! Your daughter is definitely at that horse-crazy age. Has she tried riding at all?

I have a very long list of therapeutic riding centers in the area that I have been looking at to take some initial riding lessons. I can give them to you.

Also, on another amputee bulletin board that I frequent, a woman just had a child with PFFD, and was looking for support. Perhaps I can put you in touch?

You would be welcome to bring your daughter out to visit my horses as well. I am near Owosso.

Please email me directly at sassymiss1969(at)hotmail.com if any of this would be helpful to you. Replace (at) with the @

I lost my leg in a motorcycle accident, and have ridden horses all my life. The horse move slower than the bikes, but they are thinking creatures and sometimes that can be worse than the speed! haha

I hope that this forum can help your daughter.
Welcome!

Ann
