She lost her leg below the knee in a horseback riding accident. The book is about her accident and how she re-evaluates her life afterwards. She does get back to riding. SpottedDrafts ezOP Posts: 84 (6/9/05 6:21 am) Reply	Correction Just fiished reading this book. Very good! But the author does not lose her leg, they manage to save it. I must have mixed it up with another story. I will say that she goes through exactly what I did, and probably others, while she is layed up and has to use a walker/cane.
