Attention Bluegrass Fans!
Hey, My name is Mason and if you've read any of my other posts, then u know that i like Bluegrass! R there any of you guys who want to get together and pick some while we're at Gov School? I think that would be neat. I'd like to hear from you, and about what kinds of instruments you play. OH, and r there any Allison Krauss + Union Station Fans out there? By the way, I play fiddle, in case you were wondering.

Re: Attention Bluegrass Fans!
ive never been much into bluegrass, but its always been around me (my mom's best friend growing up is Rhonda Vincent, idk if any of yall have heard of her) but anyway, i sing, and id be interested in branching out, seeing if my voice is right for bluegrass
Re: Attention Bluegrass Fans!
Let's see, Rhonda Vincent.........yeah I think I've heard of her My brother's favorite guitar player is Josh Williams, who plays with the Rage. Thanks for you're reply, looking forward to a good Jam session

Re: Attention Bluegrass Fans!
Hey! I lovvve bluegrass (and I really hope that the rhonda vincent bit was a joke...) I love Alison...I got to see her at Bonarroo last year and it was amazing!!! Anyone like Nickel Creek? Its like a modern-ish version of bluegrass.
I play the violin...ive always wanted to fiddle though. Id be content if yall would let me listen in however!
Re: Attention Bluegrass Fans!
Hey, sounds good! I didn't think about the audience, but we need one I've listened to Nickle Creek some, but not any of their latest stuff. I do think that Chris Thile writes some incredible instrumentals, those are always my favorite songs on their albums. Plus I like the way they put a new spin on traditional songs, like "The Fox"
By the way, when's the first Jam session, and where Edited by: Charger426 at: 6/30/06 11:45 am
I know this is really late and all...oh well
Their latest album is 'Why should the fire die?' its pretty good, but I def like their earlier stuff better. They actually came to my school a couple of years ago-it was ammmmmazing!!! Sarah is so lovely on the violin, I must say
Re: Attention Bluegrass Fans!
Yeah, their earlier stuff is better. The name of the album escapes me at the moment, but the first song on it was Ode to a Butterfly. That's one of the most amazing instrumentals I"ve ever heard. Chris Thile is an awsome mandolin player, probably the best. The reason he is so fast with his notes, is because he has really low action, extremely light guage strings, and a radius finger board. As far as Sarah Watkins, she's pretty good, but not grassy enough for me, I like Michael Cleaveland, Andy Leftwich, and my favorite fiddler is Stuart Duncan.Edited by: Charger426 at: 7/2/06 10:50 am
