The Modern Birthstone list contains the official birthstone list from the American National Association. These gemstones were officially adopted in 1912.
The Traditional Birthstone list contains older birthstones and is sometimes combined with the modern birthstone list. These stones reflect societal birthstone traditions, heralding back to the 15th century.
Many jewelers have differing lists of traditional birthstones. I would say that it is up to the choice of the wearer.
The Mystical list is of Tibetan origin from over a thousand years ago.
The Others list, were correlated by Dave Thompson and others participating in the usernet newsgroup as alternate birthstones.
If anyone would like more info on a stone, just make a posting, and I will get back to it ASAP!!
