Black Tourmaline (known as Schorl)
Black Tourmaline deflects negative energies instead of absorbing them. It is a stone that can be used, worn or carried when going into negative environments or when expecting to come into contact with dense or heavy energies. Black Tourmaline helps form a shield that immunizes one against the effects of harmful physical or psychic influences. It can also be used to neutralize one's own negative energies, i.e. anger, resentment, jelousy, insecurities, etc. By carring or wearing a piece of Black Toumaline, neurotic tendencies are drastically reduced.
The vibrant black that Tourmaline reflects is radiant with the light. It is one of the best stones to use when trying to ground spiritual energies. It is an ideal stone to place on the lower chakra points during crystal healings to channel and utilize energies into the physical body from the higher chakras. Black Toumaline wands can be placed at the knees or feet, with the terminations facing toward the toes, to direct negative energies out of the body. Black wands can also be used to direct energies from the crown to the base chakras. If there is a blockage anywhere in the auric or physical body, Black Tourmaline wands can be held above the constricted area and rotated in a counter-clockwise direction to clear and release the constricted energies. When practicing this technique, it is advised to also direct at least three Clear Quartz crystals toward the affected area to help dissolve the blockage.
Black Tourmaline can also be found living in Clear Quartz(called Tourmalated Quartz). The combination of clear white and radiant black creates a perfect polarity of energies. Toumalated Quartz can be used to eliminate almost any degree of subtle or physical negative energy. It is a manifestation of light and dark forces uniting together to serve a common goal.
