History:
Brenna was the oldest daughter of Lord Brenan and Penelope Selanos. She had three sisters and one brother and was responsible for them as well as the estate when her parents would go to the capital for meetings of the Council of Nine. Because of her father's paranoia he never allowed his children to leave his lands because he was sure someone would hurt them. He mistrusted the King greatly and he was constantly opposed to many of his policies. Because of this Brenna felt free to run the estate. Since she always wanted to alleviate her father's paranoia she had the personal guards teach her and her silblings how to protect themselves. By the time she was 18 she was skilled in bow and arrow as well as quarterstaff and swords. But unlike her father she felt just knowing how to protect herself was enough and advised her sisters and brothers to never fight anyone unless it was necessary.
At 20 her engagment to long time family friend Lord Carlenos was announced and Brenna resigned herself to her fate. The night of her engagement ball her home was attacked and set fire to by the royal guard of Illian. Her parents and two younger sisters were killed by order of the King. She and her two surviving siblings were ushered out of the burning house by servants when they were found still alive. Three weeks later after Brenna recovered from a broken leg and infection she was told why the King killed her family. The entire family was to be murder because her father had been accuse of treason and conspiring with Tear. Unable to believe it Brenna went to Lord Carlenos to find out the truth. What she did find out turned her affection for the man to hate. He had framed her father so that he could take his place in the Council and when he knew she was alive he planned to finish what the King started. He would have killed her if she had not been able to wrestle free of his grip and stab him with a letter opener. When she was free of his home she left Illian that night.
She traveled alone for a year before she sent word to her Uncle who was taking care of her sister and brother. She told him of what happened and that she was trying to find a way to get the truth to the King.
Two years after she left she found herself in Andor with friends she had made along the way. She heard of the Band and followed them. She made her way to the ruins of the Black Tower unsure of where she would go next.
