Broads cruisers - ex hire Well I have finally decided after much thought that it is time to move my abode to something that has water all around. My lifestyle and work climate are now perfect. I am currently squirreling away cash for the venture and should be ready to go in 2-3 months. What I am looking for is a source of ex-hire broads cruisers? There must be lots of these boats decommissioned every year. It doesn't need to be tidy inside because it is likely I will rip everything out anyway. It just needs a to be floating and moving with all electrical and water services functioning. So.... Anybody have any ideas where I can start looking? I have surfed just about every broker I can find on the net and I am not impressed with what they have to offer. By the way, I've been lurking here a while so hello finally. Mac. |

Broads cruisers - ex hire
Hi Mac,
Try looking on www.boats-for-sale.com there are a few for sale here although not always called broads cruisers. Try looking for some of the makers names that made these type of boats such as Broom or Freeman etc. If you are not sure of the makers names try looking on hire companies sites as the information they have on there boats will sometimes give you the makers name. Hope you find something soon Mac. Keep in touch and let us now how you get on. Kind Regards Martin |

things are coming together I've manage to find the equivelent of a dodgy second hand car salesman for used boats. He has some really interesting 'carefull lady owner' stuff. *chuckles* But the prices are pretty sweet although many of them need a lot of work but I expected nothing less. One thing that does worry me is the fact the guy tells me he can supply most of the boats with a safety cettificate at extra cost. Sounds a bit like a dodgy MOT to me. I am also going to have problems relocating the thing, the boat will be somewhere near Birmingham and I will need to get it to somewhere near Norwhich. Is this a feasible journey via water? it might be quite an adventure. |
