Chaps 1 and 2 SPOILERS
I didn't like OotP much, but these first two chapters put us right back on track (at least I thought so!)
Chap 1 - how funny! Right back on JKR humor of how wizards and muggles simply do not understand each other. It is always amazing to discover that, what you take for granted, is unknown by another group of people!
Chap 2 - How appropriate that the master deceiver Snape lives in a nearly-deserted mill town? What tangled webs Snape weaves!
Do you feel he appropriately explained how he can still be trusted by both sides?
Does anyone have ideas as to explain Narcissa'a complete faith in him? Does Snape actually admire and enjoy the Malfoys?
How did you feel about these characters after this chapter, before you got to the end of the book?

I am very confused about Snape now!!! I have no idea which side he's on! (I *thought* he was on Dumbledore's side, acting as a spy...)

I have only read chapters 1 and 2 at this point, as well. Rowling always said that she never understood why people liked Snape....that he wasn't a very nice guy.
I keep waiting for him to be redeemed - for me to figure out that he's just hung up on his James issues...but still a good man on the right team.
I'm VERY worried that harry will have to kill him....him AND Draco.
I'm thinking Draco will be a goner.

I loved chapter one.
I feel so sorry for the PM. Here he is, trying to take control of his little contry when things are going on that he has zero control of. Things that could ruin his career. But he has no control of them. He's just like a little confused boy trying to figure out what's real and what's not.
Then chatper 2. I have much more sympathy for Narsissa. In GoF she came across like a vain unfeeling bitch. Yet she's begging for help for her son. She loves him like a mother should. Loves him like Molly loves her kids. Love him like Lily loved Harry. She's willing to go behind Volder's back to get help for Draco. That's a gutsy move.
Bella, she's just as nutty as every. Still thinks after her "F" up in the Ministy she's Volder's #1 helper. Right. Sure you are.
Wormtail, the servant. How appropriate. Fetch Snape some tea, will you.
Then Snape. What's up with him? IS he pretending with Sissy and Trixy, or is he pretending with Dumbledore? How good of an actor is Snape?
Already, even though we've gotten several anwers, we now have more questions.

See Rhonda, he made that Unbreakable Vow to Narcissa... or if he's just pretending to be on the dark side (ha ha, that sounds like Star Wars), can he fulfill that vow and still be loyal to Dumbledore?
I think there's a lot of surprises in store in this book...

I know all the surprizes! You forget, I'm reading it for the second time already.
But did you notice, his hand wavered when he made the vow. Does that mean he really didn't want to make it?
No matter what side he's on, he's a great actor. He's got to fool Volders if he's on the Order's side, and I bet that's not an easy thing to do.
If he's a dark wizard, then he's got to fool DD,and I bet that's not that easy to do either.
Smile, it makes people wonder what you're up to!

i loved chapter 1 and 2 it explains the prime ministers role as link to the muggle world! and snapes mistifting role as a double agent!
