Course Confirmation
I am a Performing Arts student (percussion).
I submitted my class conformation around May, 2nd and I have not received a confirmation E-mail but when registering, I saw the page that said if I saw that page, then my information was in the governor's school database. Do I need to resubmit my course selection or should I just not worry about it.
Don't worry about it. There are many reasons why the email may not have come through - a typo when you put in your email address; spam filters; general internet phantoms.
The "submit" button at the end actually doesn't submit the data - it has been recorded at each step of the process - but simply runs a script to send the confirmation email.
Re: Course Confirmation
A mailing just went out that tells you exactly what was received by the office and what is still missing. The mailing also has your roommate info and class assignments.
Re: Course Confirmation
Under my first course, it has two courses. Does that mean that the first is my first choice and the second one was the second choice?

Re: Course Confirmation
are you an instrumental musician? or vocal musician? because you have theory courses and special topics courses that you have in addition to your individual music sections so the other course that is listed is most likely your special topics course Edited by: BigDGovSchool at: 6/25/06 1:39 pm
Re: Course Confirmation
I'm an instrumental musician and it has listed both theory and conducting. So, does that mean, conducting being the special topics course, that I'll be in both of those and my second choice course?
Re: Course Confirmation
I'm not sure what you mean by your "second choice course." You are in all of the courses listed on the RA letter. Not all music classes meet all month (see the music class description sheet sent out in the first May mailing for times and dates). For theory, you are simply put in whatever level you indicated (though adjustments are made once you get here.) For the music topics class, most students got their first choice, but there were a couple that were too full and we had to put a couple students in their second choice for that.
All 402 students also take one interdisciplinary class which we refer to as "Course 2." It meets in the afternoons. Not everybody received their first choice for this class, as there were several that were popular. Perhaps you received your second choice for that class, and that's what you are referring to?
