DT2005-055 - Immersion into the MCS
Right, with a week of this term left, and activity levels as high as they're likely to get, I feel we have time to push through one last piece of legislation...
DT2005-055 - Immersion into the MCS
1. THE MCS. The Dáil Tománn recognise the Micronational Cartography Society as the supreme cartographical authority in the micronational world.
2. IMMERSION.
2.1 The Dáil Tománn resolve to enter fully into the MCS.
2.2 The Poblacht na Tománn sites its homeland in the Northern Hemisphere, on the islands located West of Stormark.
2.3 The Poclacht na Tománn agrees to cease circulation of the historical map of the Republic, to be replaced with a version depicting the new land.
3. TERRITORIES. The Republic retains ownership of the region known as Tománn Indo-China, in the interest of democracy and stability in the region.

Damn 72 hours rule. It's actually passed now... even if all the lurkers were to show up, they could only force a revote by all voting 'nay'.

Re: DT2005-055 - Immersion into the MCS
It occurs to me that, in ending the vote a day early, I would be violating only the Dáil Rules of Proceedure, not the Constitution.
Firstly, it appears to be well within my rights as President to violate these rules, as I would be acting well within the Constitution. Secondly, we have no record of the Dáil Rules of Proceedure actually being ratified by a Dáil, so it's really just so many words. Something we need to look at immediately (well, when the new term begins).
In the meantime, I'm not sure if I'm going to call the vote early or not. We could just wait... Give me half an hour or so to think about it, and I'll pop back later this evening with a decision.
