Define your craft
Ya know, I think everyone outside of the craft has a "Dark robed knife weilding": image of all witches, though we are all diverse. Personaly, I cast skyclad or in white and use only natural materials. If the craft i practice had to be defined I would say it was Hedgewitchery. What is your craft path?

Re: Define your craft
hi :-)
I'm solitary eclectic witch definitely. Even though I have a preferred pantheon, I am true to the elements. I depend on my intuitions a lot. Now my pantheon is the sumerian pantheon, but I only use my Gods and Goddesses for inspirational purposes, I never invoke...
Most of what I do is kitchen witchery though, I mostly work with herbs, incenses, oils.
Recently I have worked with crystals as a deblocking and balancing aid.
As to robes and knives, I never worried about what robe to wear, I wear normal outfits but the color corresponds usually to my spell if any. Now about knives, I use my finger to cast my circle, and normal kitchen knives instead of bolines...

Love, Light and Will...

Solitary eclectic, as well, I suppose. I have collected the ritual tools I have to have them and learn about using them, but mostly I just play in the aethyr. When I want something done, I most of the time will it and watch for it to happen. Sometimes I'll use herbs and such to make charms and amulets. I have not been called to a specific deity or pantheon, but I like Egyptian. I use sigils and have since before I really knew what they were. I don't really use specific colors and most of my wardrobe is black. Definitely not the happy bunny type here! ;)

Re: Define your craft
Eclectic Solitary. As far as some type of definition of what I practice..... I am a Tantric Witch with Shamanistic tendencies, a pinch of Chaos magic and a dollop of Wyrding Way. What this means is that my primary source/resource are the Shakti/Shiva energies. I also work with the devas/elementals/small gods/nature spirits ~ Raven, Coyote, and recently Vulture (among the animal devas) and the Yakshis (East Indian answer to fairies, gnomes, elves - but with an 'edge' to them). I DO practice the Craft for personal comfort and the comfort of friends/family and for necessary materialistic ends. I DO "kick butt" when necessary and at my discretion. I have my own code of ethics which does not coincide with the "Wiccan Rede" as it is my belief that this is a Catch-22. There is no way to effectively practice magic, or indeed, even live life without harming some living entity. As regards ritual, I do not normally go in too much for full-blown orthodox ceremonial rites. I am a "fly by the seat of my pants" kinda gal. I tailor my rites to suit. I have an in house shrine to my Goddess/God whom I acknowledge daily. I have the usual complement of ritual tools including a phurba (a tibetan ritual dagger which I use in place of a wand and/or athame) and a lovely "singing bowl" which serves in place of bell or drum. I don't wear robes or practice skyclad and do not have any specific ceremonial garb.

Re: Define your craft
hmm, i'm too young in my new direction branch of may path.
I've taken up Kiddarian Trad Wicca which is based on solitaries and eclectic natures. no set god/goddesses to follow which is what drew me to begin with.
Then there is the knowledge of them using online courses and such for a lot of the basic work.
This was appealing.
The Trad High ruler ( heheh ) has become a friend and is very encouraging of my desire to broaden my path to include more and various methods than what i've been doing on my declared shamanic path.
Kind Cool in it's own right .
So, i'm just beginning to become involved in the craft. As i make my own items in the past, i've already done much research on the net of tools and things used and have begun manufacturing my own for this new knowlege and bestowing purification with rituals and power beseechments for them.

Next few months ought to be very interesting.
