Denton show 8/26
Taylor rocks my socks off.
He forewarned me about this when I called and asked...if I remember correctly (and there is a strong possibility that I don't, after polishing off 4 double vodka tonics in the first two hours of the show), I wore sandals without socks a) to avoid committing a major fashion faux-pas and 2) to avoid losing aforementioned socks that would be rocked off.
Thief opened the show, and they never cease to impress. New guitar player since I last saw them, I think. LOVE the new EP.
Taylor went on next, and as always, he proved to be an honest man, following through with his promise to rock socks off...I think I found a few on the floor. Full band for a good part of it....great to Ramsay and Tyler. And yes, Tyler Reed is a sexy beast. And I LOVE the new CD. Absolutely love. If I wasn't so afraid of rejection because of its sheer greatness, I'd propose marriage. That, and my true future wife might object. If she's out there. But that a different story all in itself.
Shwa was really cool....Taylor introduced me to him before the show, and Shwa rocked my imginary second pair of socks off. I loved his cover of "The Thong Song"...great acoustic version.
Aaron Hale, recently replanted in Denton, played the final set of the night, and rounded out a solid show. Really cool guy too...looks like T-smack. We're gonna hafta hang...
Great show overall...wish my peeps hadn't bailed, but it was their loss. Looking forward to the next one...
