Dice Divining
There are 2 ways to divine using dice. The first is to use commercial dice, which as always struck me as sort f a magic 8 ball sort of thing. to do this you can us the following methods.
Clear your mind. Then think of the question. Spin the dice (or die).
The number will correspond to an answer.
1 Yes
2 No
3 Take Care
4 Be Wise
5 Good Luck
6 Of Course
7 Have Faith
8 Be Patient
9 Certainly
10 Doubtful
11 Nonsense
12 A Chance
The second method is to take 2 wooden or stone squares and carve or draw certain symbols for each aspect of life you woud like depicted in your set. A set of dice can be anywhere from 1 to 10...but keeping it simple is probably a good idea. The more complex your set, the harder it seems to be to divine.
When choosing characters to depict intentions or possible out comes. Sitting quietly and reflecting on emotions and life aspects (love, wealth, fertility) is a good idea. Picturing a time when you got say a big tax return check and how you felt about it, then letting your hand draw is a good method. Also, if you write a word, say, love, and without thinking write the first thing that comes to mind, lets pretend heart, then you have a symbol that is spiritually linked to this emotion on a personal level. A few good reccomendations would be depictions of all elements(IE a tree for earth...3 wavy lines for water), the sun, the moon, the stars, male and female energies are depicted in my set as the triplemoon goddess symbol, and the god symbol. polarities shoud be recognized and depicted. have a "Yin and YANG" set is a good idea...masculine symbols on one die...feminine on the other, again this is a matter of choice. Creation of a set is a personal spiritual journey.
Reading personal Dice
To read personal dice, it is first important to understand that you yourself are the only one who can read your set as it was meant to be read. The feelings the intent, its all your very own. so each square is not likely to have the same meaning over and over. Go with your gut instinct when writing down out comes. As with multiple choice tests...your first answer is likely to be the correct one.
You should be in a quiet atmospere, set up in your own special way. Meaning, I can tell you to light incense and candles, but if they cause you to loose focus, what good is it? I know a witch who casts her stone dice on a reading table in the bathtub after relaxing in lavender scented water. What opens your 3rd eye is personal, and there fore experimentation may be necessary.
I love this method for its simplicity and the breadth of personalization it gives to you. I reccomend it for the beginning diviner (as opposed to commercial dice) because the intent it is to tell, rather then play.
