Finally..
We finally got all the paperwork organized, packed up a plastic file box with handle full to overflowing, and carted 20+ pounds of paperwork, medical records, medical information, legal information, and insurance company crap to the attorney's office.
There were a few new things that should be copied & sent to the SSA appeals council. That's one nice thing about the SSA. You can continue to submit new medical information until they actually see your appeal. So, this is good.
I finally got the results of my 24-hour Holter monitor back. I had "premature atrial contractions", premature ventricular contractions, and rare supraventricular ectopy. I just got it yesterday morning, so haven't really had a chance to look any of that up yet to be able to know what any of it means.
It was sort of a relief to hand it all over to the attorney. He said it will take him at least a week, maybe two weeks to read through all the documents and draft letters to the private disability insurance companies. Now, these letters will be 50-75+ pages long, but they are called "briefs"?
Then, he'll get ahold of us so we can go & look these over before he sends them. He's also going to get in touch with the MO Dept of Insurance, regarding the possibility of fraud on the part of the third-party administrators that work for both of these insurance companies. They probably will wriggle out of that, he said, because it's really HARD to prove intent to fraud. I told him, Ignorance of the law is not an excuse. He said, technically, you're right, but... that doesn't mean they will be punished.
Ah, well, now it's just wait.. and wait... and wait some more... Hopefully, he'll get it all figured out soon.
