First Manifesto of the Páirtí an Lucht Oibre
Market activity is instrumental to the improvement of individuals and social bodies. It lets us freely act on our values in a dynamic and decentralised field. But the beneficiaries of productive activity should be those who drive it, with the goal that all may live long, enriching lives.
Socialism is a collective orientation that allows individuals to realize that goal through social action. The individual cannot prosper if the social body squelches agency.
Creative checks and balances, in politics and the market, are critical to preserving that agency.
With these points in mind, we establish the Labour Party of Talamthom.
Our goals are as follows:
1) The first task of a democratic citizenry is popular agreement on the laws that will govern it. An assembly of all citizens should be established to debate, draft, and ratify Talamthom's constitution.
2) The constitution should guarantee the rights of initiative, referendum, and recall.
3) Recognizing that the people of Fealsamthom are a distinct society and must be free to breathe within their own cultural space, the constitution should be deeply federal and guarantee them collective rights to economic and cultural self-government.
4) Constructive activity gives a micronation life. Without time spent at labour, there is no activity. Talamthom's workers should be broadly unionized. Their unions should, by law, wield 50 percent of votes in private corporations.
5) Rule of law gives a micronation life and safeguards freedom. The Labour Party takes a stance of vigilance with regard to all democratic rights.
6) Labour pledges to debate in terms of facts, not slogans and personalities. Labour will strive to set an example in this regard.
