Found a new home
Hey everyone, just wanted to let you know what was going on with me these days in case I don't get a chance to talk to you in game anytime soon ..
I've decided to join SotE. Reason being is I had to leave VoF because I wont be able to raid during the day real soon.
And while I -was- considering BotS, two major things caused me to change my mind.
1) The idea of farming the same zone over and over again (Qvic currently) didnt really appeal to me. Yes, it may be some really nice loot, but they are already not even dealing with Time and the Elemental Gods and I've never done those encounters and it just didnt seem right to blow past content that Ive been working so hard to get access too. Plus I like raiding in general, not just progressing and not just phat lewts and I like to see a little variety.
2) And while everyone in BotS was really nice and really polite .. I had been working on breaking into their ranks for well over a month while dealing with the sheer boredom and depression of not being able to raid at all, and at best the general feeling I got from them about me joining their guild .. was, well .. ambivelence. Like they were too busy in their own world to care about whether I joined their ranks or not. Now, I can respect that. I understand their position and what they do and how busy they are but the fact of the matter is that EVERY guild is suffering from attendance problems right now. Also its a fact that everyone has ego's and those that know me very well certainly know that I do, and quite honestly I consider Essant to be in the top 20 of all beastlords on this server, near the bottom of that list to be sure, but definitely up there. There arent that many of us who are true MAINS (lots of twinks and alts), and certainly not that many with 350 aas and fully elemental flagged - most that are - are my friends. Not about to kiss anyones ass to get in. I'd rather join a guild that was hungry for progress and appreciative of what I can offer than one thats complacent and arrogant.
So I decided on SotE. Why? Well, one .. they asked me to. They invited me. They showed appreciation and respect by asking me to join their ranks. That goes a long ways with me. It's much nicer to be welcomed warmly than to feel like a noob breaking in and pleading to get in. The other main reason is Deniden, one of their co-leaders (who invited me). He's a former raid tank for VoF and we got to be pretty good friend while we were there. He's much younger than me, but generally a pretty smart kid and I respect him, and a very fine raid tank as well. I think he has the capabilities of leading a guild to greatness. The other reason was a chance to be in a guild with a even dkp field. It going to be nice and a good opportunity I think to maybe eventually and I hope fairly soon to be in a elemental guild where im not constantly competing against people with 300 more dkp points than me.
And well SotE has this reputation thing to live up to, and thats kind of important I guess. Means they are hungry, means they are motivated and driven to progress, and thats probably the most important reason right there.
Anyway I just wanted to explain my postion I guess so there was no hurt feelings as to like maybe why I didnt come back to AIF if I was going to join a guild that is building. I love you guys, AIF was a awesome home for over a year, and I wish you the best and will always help with anything.
Anyway its going to be a boat load of work, its going to take dedication and teamwork from every single member in the guild to do this and its not going to come easy. Theres some people already that I can tell need some general reconditioning on the way they view whats important and whats not but as long as they stay motivated and focused I'm gonna do my best to help them.
