On Sunday, May 1st the regular Sunday raiders began to gather for the assault on Katta Castellum. Much to our delight, many of our friends in EvD decided to join us for this go around. After some poking around checking on mobs (got to make sure that the Katta mobs are up!) it was discovered that Nathyn Illuminious was off on Vacation in sunny Erud's crossing!
Well, since Nathyn was a no-show, Plan B was quickly drawn up and the intrepid group of adventurers trekked over to GE to kill the Servitor of Luclin (and anything else that got in our way.) After the Servitor died a most mercurial death, ports were arranged and everyone double-timed it to UP where the Dark Masters were up and singing our song.
So we kill 2 minor named mobs that accidentally crossed our path, then killed 4 dark masters and spawned the flagitious Doomshade. It was at this point that we realized we only had 2 clerics and 1 druid with CH... not to be frustrated, we continued on undaunted! We got as ready as possible then brought that big hunk of death right into the maw of our raid force.
Things started good. The CH chain that Faleria set up was doing a fine job. Unfortunately an untimely LD sent our CH'ing druid to the server select screen, which led to our MT being sent to swim with the fishes... Unafraid, Nral stepped up and took it right in the kisser as the raiders scrambled to lose aggro and switch healing targets. So, with 2 clerics healing became very, very tight. The Necromancers started pumping mana like a firefighter's hose straight into the clerics brains, Tigran started hitting Tnarg's pretty hot-and-heavy, everyone with a spot heal started spot-healing like there was no tomorrow and even the lone enchanter on the raid stepped up to rune like a champion. End result? One dead Doomshade!
Not quite satisfied with our raid exploits, we hopped over to Katta Castellum to take a whack at the city's namesake - Lcea Katta. After killing her elite guards we brought the Queen of the city to her doom amidst the cacophony of stuns unleashed by the paladin horde that was our raid. She only got off 4 charms during the nearly 20 minute fight; quite an accomplishment. Though, as we stood over her broken-and-beaten corpse, it was Lcea who had the last laugh as she dropped her crappiest loot possible - 1 Vex Thal rock and 2 necklaces... ewwwww
Drinking full the glory of the day, the raiders went their seperate ways a short 4 hours after first banding together. But not before laying waste to 2 zones and 3 boss mobs.
