Re: GoF DVD available March 7th
The only deleted scene I liked (or thought was funny) was the one with the Hogwarts students singing the school song, trying to impress their new guests, and failing miserably... either the rest just weren't that interesting, or I was in too crabby of a mood to think more of them (I have been such a bear lately! It's terrible!)

I'm ticked!
I got mine from a store on the 13th. Didn't get a chance to watch it until Friday, and it's defective! Kept stoping and then skipping ahead. And it did that on ever dvd player I've got! So now I have to take it back and get a new one.

I just got my goblet of fire dvd a few days ago...late to the game, I know. I haven't had time to check out the deleted scenes yet, but the movie itself I liked. I thought it was very visually impressive, and also very plot driven, so not a lot in the way of character development. I think, though, with all the material in the book, they did a good job of getting all the important stuff in. I especially liked the first two challenges.

I agree. They did a good job getting the main points of the plot that moved the story ahead.
I was a little dissapointed in the 3rd challenge. Wish they would have put in some of the monsters in the maze.

That's true...the sphynx (sp?) would have been cool! You know how in the movie the branches themselves reached out for people and sucked them in? I can't remember if that's actually in the book. I want to re-read the book, but in the German edition, now that I have a little more free time than I have for the past several months.
You know, I guess this has to do with directorial styles, but I thought PoA was actually "darker" than GoF, well, except for the return of Voldemort part, that is.
