Gollum Wins Award!
Don't know if anybody here watched The MTV Movie Awards, but Gollum won for "Best Animated Character." The other nominees were Yoda, Dobby the House Elf, Kangaroo Jack and Scooby Doo.
But what was truly hilarious was the acceptance speech! Andy Serkis had a very nice little bit taped in New Zealand, and then Gollum runs up, grabbing the award yelling "Mine, precious! Mine! Thief!"
What followed was a wonderfully wacky, but obscenity-laced diatribe against MTV, the other nominees, everyone involved in the film, and especially Peter Jackson while Andy Serkis watched aghast!
