Gwyneth Paltrow - poem
Gwyneth Paltrow

He strides tentative into his favourite city pub,
Knowing he has enough for
Four fizzy Kronenbourgs –

She tiptoes confident to the counter, not even
Knowing what she wants.
Yet.

He pays her no attention,
Instead buying four pints, and
He has to line them up in front of him
Like lap counters
Because they don’t keep drinks in for new customers.

But he is more than happy to
Attack each glass slowly though the
Passage of time will make them all flat,

Because his favourite barmaid resembles Gwyneth Paltrow,
And she accepted his card.

Re: Gwyneth Paltrow - poem
I like the way you draw your word pictures. Your poetry actually reminds me of manniac's prose, a similar intensity of imagery.
