Had my yoga session
Hey Gang,
Just thought I would let you know I had my personal yoga session a couple of nights ago. My instructor was wonderful. She is a former occupational therapist and did this whole mind, emotion, body evaluation. Turns out I breathe all wrong all the time. When relaxed I breathe 12 times a minute and that hyperventilation is 16 times a minute sooo no wonder I'm a tired, anxious, neurotic, spaz all the time. Evidently I even do it in my sleep because when I told DH about it he mentioned my weird nocturnal breathing. She gave me some breathing and posture exercises, basic poses (which even those are hard because I've been a lump for 2 years) and a moodra (sp?) which is this little hand position that makes me feel a little silly but what the hay. It is supposed to direct my energy to my legs, I'm hoping it might lift up my rear end a bit in the process. I'm going to go to class once a week and see how it goes. She's agreed to consult with my DOM so I feel like I'm getting a whole holistic approach. Now I guess I need to start working on my diet.....
