Horcrux's
I am shocked we haven't really discussed on this subject. JK Rowling in her interview to Mugglenet and Leaky Cauldron said that alot of us should have one of the horcrux's figured out by the end of a week. Which ment the week after the book came out.
I bet alot have thought of the locket in the Black house. In OotP when Mrs. Weasley and all the kids were cleaning out that room they came across a locket. Do you all remember this. What if that locket is the locket R.A.B took. Just think if it is Regulus Black who took it then he could have hid it in his house. I mean didn't DD or Sirius say that that house was well protected when Sirius' dad was alive? Which means he did alot of spells on it to protect it. Also I don't even think LV even knows that it is missing still to this day. So my guess is that locket is the missing horcrux.
What do you think? What do you think the other horcrux's are?

I definitely think the locket was a horcrux.
I think Mundungus sold it...and that a huge part of Book 7 will be the trio tracking it down.

The locket's definitely a good one. And that goblet or whatever that disappeared from the woman's house after LV killed her. Didn't that belong to Helga Hufflepuff?
There's no way I can wait for another book to come out.

Re: Horcrux's
I actually got chills while I was reading that chapter about the Horcruxes. My mind was spinning with so many possibilities. We don't know enough about them yet, but I kept thinking, "what if Harry himself is the last Horcrux that Voldemort created?" It does not bode well for Harry in the scheme of getting rid of Voldemort. At the end of CoS, I believe, Dumbledore told Harry that Voldemort had accidentally put some of his own power into Harry when he gave him that scar. I don't know if that "some of his power" is the same as a Horcrux.
I suppose all that means is that Harry may have a bit more power than he otherwise would, and Voldemort has a bit less.

not in a crazy way.

The more I think about it, the less likely Harry is a horcrux.
After all, if he tried to kill Volder's and he himself was a horcrux, then Volder's would just get back the peice of soul in Harry. Harry would have to have the peice of Volder's soul destroyed first, and that might kill Harry, leaving the actual killing of Volder's to someone else.
I've voting the locket, the snake, the cup are all horcruxes.

yeah, I don't think Harry is a Horcrux. The Horcrux is a storage for part of one's soul (which makes it so evil, the division of a soul), not part of one's magic. Besides, Voldemort never intended to pass over any of his attributes to Harry.
I can't believe book six has just now been released, so think of the agonizing wait till seven! ugh!!!

I'd vote for the locket, the diary, the cup -- but not living things, so no snake and no Harry scar.

FYI, the first mention of the RAB "Horcrux Locket" is on page 116 of the hardcover US edition of OotP.
Quote:There was a musical box that emitted a faintly sinister, tinkling tune when wound, and they all found themselves becoming curiously weak and sleepy until Ginny had the sense to slam the lid shut;also a heavy locket that none of them could open, a number of ancient seals and, in a dusty box, an Order of Merlin, First Class that had been awarded to Sirius's grandfather for "Services to the Ministry."

Re: Horcrux's
I've also thougth that Harry could be a Horcrux...in Book 2 CofS DD tells Harry that the night LV tried to kill him, he transferred a part of himself to Harry...he told him that is why he can speak parseltongue...Harry told him about the Sorting hat saying he would do well in Slytherin but DD told him that he always had a choice...which is what Harry did when he told the Sorting hat not Slytherin.
Also, can it be the medal that Ron had polished when he rec'd detention? Was it Riddles?? I don't have the book in print so can't check.
Also, what about the Marauders map? Mr. Weasly had told Ginny how never to trust anything that can think for itself if you can't see where it keeps it's brain......Harry remembered this when he was going to use the map but decided to use it anyway.

The Marauder's Map!
Hmmm...interesting. I never thought of that one.
We're led to assume that the map was created by the Marauders...but nowhere does it actually say that in any of the books. And, indeed, several comments about the shady qualities of the map are made.
The four boys could have enchanted the map with it's messages and Marauder attributes. Nowhere is it mentioned how they came about actually getting the map.
Interesting.

Re: Horcrux's
If it were the "Marauder's Map" would Harry be able to be around it then? I mean whenever Volemort is near his scar hurts him. So if the "Marauder's Map" were a horcrux then it would hold one of Voldemort's souls and I just don't see Harry being able to keep ahold of it; then again he did pick up that "Locket", but was unable to open it. I believe that the book mentioned that James, Sirius, Lupin, and Pettigrew referred to themselves as the "Marauder's" so I think that they made the map 100%, and I just don't know how Voldemort would know about it cause they came way after Voldemort. I do think it's a good thought though, and who knows maybe it could be a possibility.
