How to Use a Pendulum
When deciding on a Pendulum to use, allow the Pendulum to choose you. For example, choose one that speaks to you in some way. If you like the way it looks or feels, or are drawn to a particular Pendulum for any reason then it is meant for you.
The Pendulum swings of its own force, with no motion from your hand. When you ask a question, either out loud or mentally, the Pendulum will swing in vertical straight lines, horizontal straight lines, and in circular movements. Assign each directional swing by asking the Pendulum to show you a NO swing, a YES swing, and a NEUTRAL swing.
Phrase your questions so they can be answered with a positive (Yes), negative (No) or neutral response. Examples: 'Will I be offered the job I interviewed for this morning?' and not, 'Will my pregnant cousin deliver a boy or girl? Be prepared to ask several questions to receive enough information to aid you in your search.
You want to allow free movement of the Pendulum while you are holding your hand still. Place your arm so it's comfortable while you do this and make sure to completely stop any Pendulum motion between questions. Once you know the direction that your Pendulum swings, you are ready to use dowsing for inner guidance. At times you may notice also that the swing may have greater speed. This may be understood as a more "insistent" answer to your question.
Tips
With any divination tool remember to accept information only if your intuition assures you it is accurate. Keep a notebook handy to write down your questions and your pendulum's response. Likewise, each person must establish their own directional swings before using a Pendulum. Make sure that the Pendulum has been cleared of any negative energies before and after each use.
Types of Questions You Can Ask?
Anything!! What do you want to know the answer to? If you don't want to know - don't ask.
Also, don't 'think' the answer you want to hear, ask your question and let your mind go blank.
Other Uses Of Pendulums
A Pendulum can be used for divining - pointing in a particular direction. For example, if you've lost your car keys, visualize what they look like and ask your guidance to show you where they are. Stand in one corner of the house and see where the pendulum points. Then stand in another corner of the house and see where it points. All going well, the keys will be where the two directions cross. You can also use this technique to find a location on a map - looking for buried treasure perhaps - by divining from one axis then the other to see where the lines cross.
Additional uses of Pendulums
• Finding missing people or lost objects
• Stock market dowsing
• Testing food, herbs, medicines
• Testing water, soil, air
• Treasure hunting
• Quality control
• Checking for geopathic zones
• Spiritual work
• Compatibility testing
This list could go on and on, as the imagination is the only limit to different uses of Pendulums.
Remember, the Pendulum should only be used as a tool to help guide you. Do not rely on The Pendulum solely as the only answer, or the only way to steer you through life. Use a more balanced approach.

Gaia, I had only used a pendulum up to now to sex emus successfully. beats paying for a DNA check.
a male moves straight back and forth over their back.
a female moves circular over their back .
consistent for everything I've ever checked...
use about 10 - 12 inches of string and good size pendulum ( I use a carpenter's plumb bob ).
try it on your arm and a guy's. works...

Rose told me of a book called Pendulum Workbook by Markus Schirner that i ordered from I think it was One Spirit.
Anyhows, it's slam full of charts for swinging and other information which makes things much simpler to use.
I'd give it a 2 thumgs up.
Also i changed my pendulum to a cut clear quartz point pendulum on cotton braided string. works like a charm.
