How to remove duplicate entries in your Account drop down
NOTE: Before doing this, write down your account names and passwords!
NOTE: You will be modifying game files, therefore, you do this procedure at your own risk, I take no responisibility if your game blows up and you have to reinstall!
1. Open My Computer/Windows Explorer
2. Navigate to x Mythic\Camlot (or Isles), where x: is the drive letter of where DaoC is installed
3. Find the user.dat file, single click on it
4. From the “File, Edit, View” menu at the top of My Computer/Windows Explorer, choose Edit -> Copy
5. Now do Edit -> Paste from the same menu (this will make a backup copy of your user.dat file)
6. Double click on user.dat, skip to step 10 if it opens, otherwise continue to step 7
7. Choose the option to check which program you wish to use, don’t search the Internet
8. The “Open With” dialog window will appear
9. Select “Notepad” from the list, check the box that states “Always use the selected program to pen this kind of file”, click the “OK” button
10. The program Notepad should launch with the user.dat loaded, if not, go back to step 7 and try again
11. You will have to look for the following sections:
[quick]
[main]
12. In the [quick] section (quick contains your Quick Entries), find the entries labeled entry9 through entry0 (see below). NOTICE: <character name>,<server name>, IP Address, #, #, # ARE PLACEHOLDERS
[quick]
entry9= <character name>,<server name>, IP Address, #, #, #
entry8= <character name>,<server name>, IP Address, #, #, #
entry7= <character name>,<server name>, IP Address, #, #, #
entry6= <character name>,<server name>, IP Address, #, #, #
entry5=<character name>,<server name>, IP Address, #, #, #
entry4=<character name>,<server name>, IP Address, #, #, #
entry3=<character name>,<server name>, IP Address, #, #, #

entry1=<character name>,<server name>, IP Address, #, #, #
entry0=<character name>,<server name>, IP Address, #, #, #
setentry=2
13. Remove all text next to them, so that they look like this:
[quick]
entry9=
entry8=
entry7=
entry6=
entry5=
entry4=
entry3=
entry2=
entry1=
entry0=
setentry=2
14. In the [main] section, remove the text next to: EULAdates, dates, accounts (see below). NOTICE # ARE PLACEHOLDERS.

setserver=Palomides
setaccount=2
EULAdates=#######,#######,#######,#######

roledate=#
torchmode=#
pointermode=#
cameramode=#

21. Choose your server – play!
22. Repeat steps as necessary to re-enter all of your accounts!
TROUBLESHOOTING:
If you run into any problems:
1. Delete the current user.dat file (you have a backup, right?)
2. Single click on “Copy of user.dat” file
3. From the “File, Edit, View” menu of My Computer/Windows Explorer, choose Edit -> Rename
4. Rename this file to “user.dat” (without quotes)
5. Log on to DaoC or start from Step 1 of the previous procedure
* If you are still getting multiple accounts with the name in the account list, go back to the user.dat file and remove any duplicate names from the [main] section on the accounts line.
