marieclaude3 eDevotee Posts: 442 (4/4/03 5:05 pm) Reply	I had my baby boy! Hi, I was due on the 27th and I had him on the 28th at 7:42am. At 2:30 am I started having contractions but I thought they would go away as usual but they were about 45 sec in length and were 10 mns apart. At 4am I decided to let dh know and I went to take my shower. I told him I would let him know once they were 5 mns apart since we had to time them for an hour. Well they went to 3 mns apart real fast so he got up and I woke my kids up for breakfast. We left at 5 am and by then they were getting painful. My kids were not allowed in due to the SAR virus, which is upsetting cos my 12 yr old ds wanted to see the birth. They were sent home due to SAR. Anyway I was only 3 cm dilated when I got there but then all of a sudden I started getting one big long contraction and I was in so much pain. They had just moved me to a room but had not checked me for a while and I was not on a monitor. Next thing I knew I was ready to push !!! No dr yet and the nurse could not believe it. I was begging for pain medicine or epidural but she said it was too late cos when she checked I was already fully dilated. I was pushing and they wanted to brake the water but it exploded by itself when I pushed. The dr made it just in time to catch the baby !! He rated 9 and weighed 6 lbs 10 oz and 21 1/4 long. I was so scared I thought I was going to die but he came so fast even the nurses were shocked. So a completely natural birth which I had not planned for and no stitches. He is one week old today and nursing really well. He was almost back up to his birth weight after 3 days and his first check up was great. Sending labor vibes to those of you who are still waiting!!
