lol I was thinking the same thing on the pop ups. Seems not to many months for at least one person to see, although I wasnt in AiF lol.
I was cleaning up my favorites and see what works and what doesnt. I guess this one will stay up for a little longer.

I'm in the process of reloading EQ now. It's going to be sad to not see all my old friends in the game.

Man how things have changed. I wonder around the old zones and I'm usually the only one in them. I can't even get trained in Blackburrow It's hard to say but I don't think the magic days of everquest can be recaptured as bad as you may want them. I had some amazing times in this game and met some people that I will never forget
I've tried LotRo, Vanguard, Guild Wars, Star Wars Galaxies, City of Heroes and WoW, but none of the can live up to the experiences and times I had playing EQ. LotRo comes the closest so I guess I will have to stick with that.
I will check back in here from time to time hoping to hear from people and what they are doing now. Where ever you are adventuring now I wish you the best and good hunting.

Yeah I found the same thing to be true a few years ago. I even moved my account over to Emarr server for a year including my AIF toons Bonus and Zummonz. I was hoping to rekindle that old feeling for eq b/c at that point I had already taken 3 months or so off ( for what the 5th time or so ). I will say the raid guilds on Emarr were way ahead of the rathe. Then a friend talked me into moving my Rogue back over to the rathe, which was cool for a while. I just lost interest and with all my friends gone to other games I just quit all together.
It just sucked with all the old school guys I started with back in '99 being gone, Ainolin falls into that category. It's sad but yeah the magic is gone, I still keep in touch with all my old friends from my first raid guild Tindi Losi but other than that I don't talk to many of those people. So with EQ1 failing and falling farther and farther behind the other games ( which I can't say I ever tried ) I ended my MMORPG life.

Wow! Hey guys, been a LONG time!!! Hehehehe!
I joined League of Levity after EoF and spent about a year there, then retired for about 6 months, came back to the game for another 4 months or so, then quit altogether.....that was back in, oh, June of 2006.....so I've been EQ-free for over a year too!!! hehe.
Since then I formed a 60 man guild in Vanguard, which now pretty much doesnt exist thanks to Sony and their suckiness...played SWG again for a few months, EQ2 for about a week, D&D Online for a couple days, etc etc etc.....the only MMO I have installed on my cpu atm is Guildwars...which I only play every few weeks or so, due to a busy work schedule.
Nothing has come close to EQ, the times I had in that game were so memorable and fun, that no other game has come close to my expectations...so I really havent stuck with anything, I was pretty bummed when I tried logging into the Evolution of Faith Message board only to see it gone. The other guild I was in, League of Levity, also seems to have hit rock bottom.....yeah, the official end of EQ must be near.....3 expansions a year, the silly instanced zones, and the endless unnecessary timesinks were what killed it for me.....however, if I could log back in and relive the old days with Sarneho, Howlar, Derva, Ahrok, Solaxx, Mantyss, Shantar, Nefarrio, Raphayl, Nilyenea, Toromin and you guys I would in a heartbeat.......I'll just never be able to log back into EQ knowing that my friends just won't be there..../cry.
