name: Skye
age: 20
location: AL
E-mail: FlyingPegasus1984@yahoo.com
ic
name: Idiran
sex: Male
wolf's age: 6
fur color: almost solid white, with black "saddle"marking on the back and a gray "mask" on his face.
eye color: Blue
scars/identifying marks: One of his eyes is useless to him, and a scar cleaves the useless one. His right ear has been long since bitten in half, the tip of it is gone.
mate: nada
pups: nope
personality: he is gruff and temperamental for the most part. He doesn't like much in the world, and travels with a desire to just run away from it all. Something from his past has scarred him, and it's not just the bitten ear and the scarred eye...in his heart of hearts he is angry and bitter. But somewhere in that same canid heart, there is a truly courageous and loyal wolf...it just takes some digging to find him.
breif history: He formerly led a pack in the far north but disease and poaching killed off all but himself. Now he is alone in the world, with only the memory of his lost family and friends to keep him company. His pack, DarkWalkers-used to be the most prosperous in the northern reaches. He carries that fame with him as he travels...though it has become infamy now. He is a loner who faces constant challenge from young wolves who mock him for his loss, and laugh at his pain.
IC:
Idrian padded through the snow, throwing snow in little arcs behind him as he went, his shaggy tail, held level with his back swaying behind him. Finally, he came to a frozen over creek, though the ice was beginning to break.
He stooped to take a drink from the water and the cool, refreshing taste of the water energized him. He was tired of eating snow for water, though it was better to travel in snow than unbearable heat.
However, as he drank, a twig snapped behind him and his hackles raised instantly. He spun around, bristling all over, fangs bared.
"Who goes there?!"

Tbey should be in character samples from any other RPG. The purpose of the samples is just to see how proficent you are as a writer, to see how high we should/shouldn't rank you.

((*pounces* Well..if Gabe wants to vye for your charrie..LOL))
Luna arched an eyebrow, staring at the male in front of her. Her silvered eyes were hard as she stepped closer, her own silver frosted hackles raised. "Who's that?" She coldly mimiced. "I am the alphess of Stellar. That's who's that." Rude impudent little mutt.
Then again, Luna didn't like strangers, and she despised border duty, even as...decent as this weather was. At least it wasn't snowing anymore. The rain wasn't so bad, and as summer approched, so did warmth. "Why don't you tell me who you are, sir?" Her accent on sir was sarcastic, the alphess' tone cutting and cruel. She was NOT in the mood for the usual games.
Re: Idrian- Willing to join a pack
Idrian visibly relaxed, and, in spite of her tone, which he didn't much like, himself...he knew he was no longer an Alpha...and he did what all self respecting strangers would do.
He lowered his head and his tail and flattened his ears.
"Forgive me, my lady," he replied softly, "My name is Idrian, and I'm a wanderer in these lands...if I tresspass, please, tell me...and I shall go my way...I would not be willing to put out a lady like yourself."

Oh I see, is that a challenge? Fine then! I'll bring De in just for the sake of excitement, and we'll see how things go.

Evaporation of winter into spring always made itself most noticeable. First the cracks in the ice then the disappearance of snow mounds to the bloated rain clouds over head. Snuffing through the underbrush the golden brute parted the foliage like Moses did to the sea. A dark and powerful force embraced the caramel brujo, and he, the one with the devil's eyes, stalked the earth fully aware of his inflated ego--he'd like to keep it that way.
Great talons, cream dipped and sturdy, grappled the damp soil as he once more paced the borderlands. Spring would mean new wolves, and new wolves meant more excitement. The golden brute fed off of excitement like a vampire did off blood. As rough pads carried the beast adrift across the terrain, acute auds pitched forth at the tone of voices, one of which he recognized immediately. As soon as her face registered in his mind, bold blue-violet optics sighted the sterling Alphess. Now, he couldn't pass up a chance like this, no, not when it came to tormenting Queenie. Besides, he hadn't seen her in the longest of times, it'd be rude to pass by without a simple 'Hello.' More over, there was some one with her--all the better.
"My name is Idrian, and I'm a wanderer in these lands...if I trespass, please, tell me...and I shall go my way...I would not be willing to put out a lady like yourself." Moving into the river's clearing, a great golden shadow sliding between the bushes without any sound at all, Deacon moved toward the two, 'tsking' in dismay. The caramel brute gave his golden crown a shake, to show obvious disapproval. "Please, it would take much more to put out a lady such as she then a few angry words." His words were polite enough, but knowing Deacon, the demon of a brujo had some sort of sarcasm shining in his eyes.

Re: Idrian- Willing to join a pack
Idrian eyed the newest arrival with suspicion, but retained his submissive posture. "If you do not mind so much...I do not wish to be the cause of a fight..." The command was still in his voice, from his younger days, even though he knew he was no match for the younger wolves.
"And certainly," he began with a light laugh in his voice, as though to cover his earlier tone, "an old wolf such as I am hardly worth shedding blood over...granted I can still quite pull my weight within a pack...but the days of my uttermost worth are gone from me..."
And how he felt it...

((Sorry it took me so long. My laptop isn't allowed online on weekends, mom's rule. *rolls my eyes*))
Oh, dear spirits. Deacon. That impudent little mutt! Silvered eyes narrowed with irritation with the interruption. Her irrtiated mind took in Idrian's words half way. "If you do not mind so much...I do not wish to be the cause of a fight..." A fight? She wouldn't waste her energy. A curl of her lip as she looked at deacon said so plainly.
"There's no need to fight, Idrian. You're right." Her tone was mildly sarcastic. "If you're such an old wolf, why are you on borderlands?" She had an old wolf, already. But that one was an old friend. Her ex-alpha, at that. Idrian, though...she'd wait to see how things developed.
Re: Idrian- Willing to join a pack
He straightened a bit, though his ears remained back and his tail lowered. "I was once alpha of a pack in lands far from here to the north...though Once is the operative word." He sighed. "They are now lost to me...so I travel now-evermore searching for home or death-whichever deigns take me."
He shook his head lightly, perhaps at a memory, and said no more for the moment.

A fight? Dear god no. Deacon sure wouldn't have minded, but if he was going to fight, it would happen of his own free will. Never was the brute's battles operative under another's actions. It was had to believe but the golden brute worked under a strict list of rules, his rules, that bend and change as the canine grows daily. He was arrogant, but he wasn't a fool. Evolution was a must.
As of the moment, the golden hellian would tolerate the silvren alphess, for they were on neutral land dealing with a neutral wolf. No need for personal strife to get in the way of a good meeting. Or as good an it could get. Glimmering oculars of polished indigo stared at the old wolf. Sizing him up, there was still strength in age, plus wisdom, Deacon didn't deny that. But some the the age-withered were more crazed then knowledge, this one, however appeared to be free of heavy trauma. The saddle-backed wolven looked around six to seven moons, not too old, he was equivalent to the average 42 year old human. Deacon could see many more years in his future.
"With that kind of attitude, I wouldn't be surprised of the latter. Regardless, you must have a preference..." How bold could the golden brute get, asking this time-ripened wolf whether he preferred life to death or vice versa, but the question was crucial. Deacon didn't want to deal with a half-brained, suicidal old man, that's for sure.

"With that kind of attitude, I wouldn't be surprised of the latter. Regardless, you must have a preference..." waht a dumb question. But the fey would hold her tounge for now. Thinking about it, though, the male's answer could make a difference between the two packs.
Luna simply cocked her head and waited, a wolf carved of granite. For this meeting, she'd watch and wait. See how things unfold. The silken alphess was good at waiting.
Re: Idrian- Willing to join a pack
"I certainly prefer the thought of home again...of finding some use in this world for myself. But I do not fear death, certainly."
He seemed a bit more relaxed now, though guarded, carefully watching the other wolves. The golden wolf seemed bold...he sensed a cruel strength about him-though he looked back to the silver alphess-she was patient...though her earlier tone had made him doubt that...but now she stood stock still, waiting, watching.
This would not be a question of pack health, and for that, Idrian was grateful. The land had bounty for the taking and these wolves were both healthy and strong. He felt momentarily sick at his stomach, though...his pack had been strong once...then came death-silencing one by one the power of his family-his mate, his pups, his friends and allies...even those who would overthrow him...and left him alone.
He supposed the next question would deal with his pack's fate...

A grim smile caressed the brutes sharp creamy muzzle. Did his eyes with hold approval? The flicker died as soon as it sparked, the old brujo wasn't afraid to die. Definitely the words of a warrior. With tassel lifted, for praise of the skies, Deacon waltzed an elegant circle around the cainid; fluid steps unfitting for such a ravenous creature.
Nares flared, taking in the stranger's scent, Deacon forced the brute's musk into his memory bank, in case something would arise, this old wolf wouldn't be hard to find. The golden Alphen did this with every one he came along, it was a process, Deacon is proud to say he remembers every single creature that he has ever come in contact with. And that was the power of wolven senses.
"You said you were Alpha once. How did you ascend to the position?" Low baritone sounded strange and conversational. He wasn't trying to crack a joke, the brute was genuinely curious. The past says a lot about a person, but in Deacon's opinion the making of history was far more informative.

Re: Idrian- Willing to join a pack
He waited for one of the present alphas to speak. When the stalking, golden male spoke, he turned his full attention to him.
"I came to lead my pack by a series of quite interesting events...the pack into which I was born was destroyed. I was a yearling then...and was accepted into the Darkwalker ranks as an Omega. We thrived under that alpha's leadership, but once he died, his Beta came to power...and was a careless tyrant. He cared little for the lands and less for the pack-and abused his power over us. His carelessness lost a litter of his own children that next year...
So I challenged him...a bold move for me, though I had risen in rank by proving my strength-I was not in an advantageous position...
When we fought, I killed him, and claimed his blood on behalf of the pups who were lost.
I cannot brook a careless leader. Nor can I brook a leader who is too soft.

Re: Idrian- Willing to join a pack
The males' word lingered in the silver alphesses ears as she studied him. Something about his story seemed so familiar...then it struck her. She had heard it once before, as a younger wolf, she was certain of it. She tilted her head fractionally, studying him harder.
Still the frosted alphess did not speak. She would hear more from this male before she made up her mind about him. She'd had enough of males to last her a life time, and especially with ones who once were in power. Most wolves who had tasted power continued to yearn for the taste of it, hot and fiery, in their mouths again.
Re: Idrian- Willing to join a pack
He looked to each of them once more. "But I can assure you both that I have no desire to claim Alpha again...the responsibility of a leader should fall to a younger wolf-you shall have no challenges from me, lest you should fail in your duty as a leader-as my former Alpha did..."
He sighed and shook his head. "No...I am content to follow, and fight for a pack that needs or desires my aid."

Yes, I apologize, I've been slacking a lot on my appearances around the board. Plus I had a lot of projects due this week. Summer is just around the corner folks!

Dazzling indigo orricles fixed upon the aging lupine. Deacon studied the other male, giving a calculating sweep of sharp blue-violet optics. The golden brute regarded the silvern Alphess, she's kept that muzzle of hers closed for some time now, wonder what's going through her noggin.
The gold Hellian allowed his tongue to roll from the barriers of his creamy muzzle. The day had become long and his energy was surely dissipating into the air. "Then I expect you are one to fight for the pack and not the Alpha..." There was a strange twinkle in his eyes, most wolves believed the Alpha was the pack, and serving the Alpha meant serving the pack. Those wolves are lost and delusional. The Alpha might be the head of a pack, but rarely are they the heart, rarely.
