Italian military ship of World War I discovered in Albanian
TIRANA, Aug. 16 (Xinhuanet) -- Albanian and Italian divers recently discovered in the sea area of south Albania an Italian military ship sunken during World War I period, along with 674 servicemen on board, the Albanian Telegraph Agency (ATA) reported Tuesday.

The ship "Regina Margherita" was discovered about two miles fromthe shore of the Vlore Bay at a depth of 70-80 meters.

The ship, 130 meters long and 23.8 meters wide, sank on Dec.11, 1916, under unknown circumstance.

According to some sources, the ship might have sunken due to a wrong maneuvering of its crew or after an attack by some enemy warships.

As no exact information on the location of the ship was available, the divers spent several months doing preliminary probebefore finally finding the ship, said Pajtim Shpata, head of the divers'association "Blue expedition." Enditem
