ok.... i guess nothing new is happening...
*sigh*
i guess i could post that my son's peewee football team is now undefeated.... 5-0. he even made a touchdown last saturday. of course i missed it because i had to work, but hopefully i can get the video.
the HS band my two older kids march in just brought home 3 trophies and perfect 1s in each category, too... from the band festival they competed in last weekend. (I didn't get to see that either) (but then again - i did get to pay my cell phone bill, right?)
i already posted (in the Mercy Seat forum) about my youngest son wanting to come and live here with me for a week, then with his dad for a week... that was great news, but no - it didn't come about without resistance. so it's still sorta up in the air. at least i know that's what he wants... more time with his mom. i'm going to do everything i can to make sure that happens.
i think that's all that's new here... or at least that's all that's interesting. i don't have any achievements of my own to report... but my kids are doing great.

It's fall again.....and we're buried under homework..... My son is 12 years old and 7th grade homework is the pits. He asks a lot of funny questions, like how the song Israel relates to Moby Dick? You know, "Call me Ishmael/Israel" and all those other references. Anybody know any details?

Nothing new really going on here. The new thing is, I guess, that I have a little bit of free time to do some surfing. Yay!

i forgot to say that i have 2 jobs now... the new one is helping with a caterer. very high brow food... hummus and other things i never heard of. most of it's good tho. even if it looks a little iffy.
the last wedding we did, the rented port-a-potties were facier on the inside than my bathroom at home....

Fall still...
I'm waiting for the weather to be fall. We are still having some nice summer-like weather.
New stuff-wise: Still nothing new which is a good thing. Calm and peaceful.

Well, we are now a month in to fall (calendar-wise) with the holiday season (if you count Halloween) underway. How is college, school, work, life, going for everyone?

now it's almost winter. the biggest thing here is getting ready for melody's surgery. it's dec. 14th, at 7:30am. (which means we get there at 5:30, lol) the next few weeks are full of getting ready for that. 2 visits to the red cross so she can give her own blood, if she needs it. one visit for a test i can't pronounce to get a neurological reading, then one more with the surgeon.... it's still hard to believe this is really happening. but then again.... most of life these past few months has been pretty unbelievable.

Well, it's almost winter...we need a new furnace for our house. It's a little chilly in the house. We'll make it though.
We are all keeping busy with work...nothing much new.

we have a gas heater in the living room, but keep the bedrooms warm with little electric heaters... it's cool that my electric bill has gone down since we don't need ac anymore. but now the gas bill goes up.
as for work... on good thing about working 2 jobs is that ya get this momentum going.... i can't seem to stop even when i'm just home with nothing to do. so my house is all clean and the laundry is done and the porches are swept.... now i gotta figure out how to hang my Christmas lights without a ladder. i'd really like to put some on the outside of the house this year. it feels like it's really important to make a big deal of Christmas. maybe cuz i spent last year's holidays in a mental fog. maybe cuz i want to make it special for my Mellie....

I've got my house pretty clean and up to par (for right now). I have some stuff outside that I would like to get done. You can borrow my ladder -- just come get it.

i got it done!
ok, Mel did it cuz she knew her mom is terrified of climbing ladders. but we got the lights up, and the columns decorated with the red ribbons and yes, the dog managed to tear one off already. tomorrow i'm getting that spray doggie "no!" stuff that's supposed to keep them away from important things like christmas decorations.
