Labour's Manifesto
A party of ongoing progress dedicated to building Talamthom, Labour stands for:
1) Normalization and simplification of the Republic's elections through:
a) a national list system - to increase competitiveness and the role of the party, and to reduce the number of ballots;
b) four parliamentary elections annually held at three month intervals - to increase competitiveness, interest, and opportunity to participate;
c) two presidential elections annually held at six month intervals and coinciding with Dáil elections - to reduce the number of separate ballotings, and to create a 'midterm election' that will bring dynamism to executive-legislative relations.
2) Elimination of the Citizens' Council while its key powers, the initiative and referendum, are retained. Traditional Citizens' Council voting on constitutional amendments will happen at referenda concurrent with the nearest general elections.
3) Filling of Dáil vacancies by the parties that nominated vacating MPs. Where the vacating MP was an independent, the President will appoint another independent.
4) Retaining East Fealsamthom's special status in confederation to keep Talamthom unique, accommodating, and welcoming to micronationalism's level-headed socialists.
5) Vigilance with respect to all democratic rights and the non-arbitrary rule of law.
6) Reasoned public debate in terms of facts, not slogans or personalities.
7) Creative checks and balances in politics and the market, including a significant role for trade unions.
Labour is a party of expert solutions and clear thinking - the party that brought you Talamthom's Constitution and successfully organized the first session of Parliament.
