Lame Duck and Retirement
As my current term in parliament comes to an end (before April's elections); I have decided not to seek re-election to any federal position, county position, or to parliament. The term limits of Mainistir prevent 'career politicians' like myself from creating a culture of complacent incumbency.
I will announce my retirement date from parliament to my constituents and to parliament as soon as possible.
This will allow new candidates amble time to conduct and start an election campaign before April 2005.
Despite the rumors, I will not seek elected or appointed office in Mainistir (or any other county) as well.
I wish to thank my staff for their up most professionalism and devotion to public duty; it was not easy working for me on the public stage.
I wish to thank the people of Mainistir who have stood behind me on many issues that were unpopular in Talamthom. To that I am most grateful.
After spending my adult life in public service, it is time for me to retire and spend more time with my family and friends.
Also, it is time to step down from government and enjoy the fruits of my retirement.

Mr. York,
You have no reason to quit or retire. Auch. You did something unconstitutional, you haven't exactly been punished for it. If you continue with the NFP, cease with the talk of a Mainistir Legislature, I'm sure Portela will join you again, and at the next election he should be able to stand for election in the capital. That will give the NFP two members of parliament, equal to DSP and CPT.
If you remained in politics it would mean you would be able to carve out your own section of Talamthom in the name of the right.
