Liveaboard chat room Hi there everybody, I have been searching for a liveaboard chat room on the net, but have found nothing. Would anyone be interested in using one? My partner and I are hoping to buy a Dutch Barge this year to live on and would love to chat with other people etc.... |

Liveaboard life Hi there Terry and Gillian. We are the couple who are looking to purchase a boat, (not sure which sort yet) in order to live on. Got your reply on the message site. We are keen to chat to people who liveaboard, or who are considering it in order to gain some advice etc. What is your situation? Hope to hear from you, Alex & Lindsay. |

Reply to A&L Hello Alex and Lindsay.....thanks for your reply, we are living in west yorkshire (cleckheaton, nr Bradford) We have a small F/G cruiser (23ft Norman) at present, which was bought as an introduction to the waterways, so that we could get used to canal/river usage (locks etc.,) we are convinced that a life on water would be an idyllic move. we have looked at virginia currer marine sites and found that prices vary considerably, we get the buy a boat magazine but to press have not seen a boat that is suitable in all respects. There is a company in Stanley Ferry. Wakefield, Yorks. who will build a new 10ft beam narrowboat style craft fully fitted and complete with a bow-thruster (which Terry feels is a necessity) for around 46K we both think this is a good price, but reports from people in the know, make us unsure about this deal. Please post another reply with more of your details or E/M us on terry@stonefield25.fsnet.co.uk *** regards....Terry and Gillian. |

I would I would. I'm not a liveaboard now but I grew up living on a boat (from the time I was 2 to 10). Love chatting with other liveaboards. E-mail me if you get one started...ecaria @ hotmail.com |

Re: Live a board My boyfriend and me are currently looking at buying either a fishing or passenger boat to convert or else a houseboat, and moor it in London. I would be very interested in taking to other future or present liveaboards especially those with small children living in and around London as we have two children ourselfs, as well as others who have done boat conversions |

Same thing! I just recently moved down to the south coast - not sure if there is much (or as much) available here as in kent and london, anyone know where a complete newbie might talk to someone about living afloat in the southampton area? |
