Jaina put down her copy of Othello, unable to maintain interest in it. Normally she enjoyed The Bard. Lately, things had changed. The redhead had been reading to reward herself for organising her quarters in what was left of the Jaded Soul. The starship no longer flew, but it provided Jaina with reasonably secure quarters and a place to shelve her beloved books. Literature occupied her in the absence of family, she thought. That was silly of her. JJ had family -- just not genetic family. She had a brother, sister, brother-in-law, niece and nephew. Galain was doubtless as happily busy as ever with his brandy and the women who seemed to fall into his lap. Lunzie, though, had gone for quite awhile now without contacting her sister. Jaina's worries deepened. Before she could throw herself headlong into anxiety, the surprised vampire hunter thought she heard a sound from the hatch. "What the hell?" Jaina asked the empty room in surprise. "I didn't think anybody knew the Soul was here." She went to investigate.
