Magelo FAQ
How to get a Magelo account:
1.) Bring up the Magelo site in a browser.
2.) Click the Register button to create an account.
3.) Note that the registration process includes an email confirmation step, so you need to use a valid email address. When you get the confirmation email, click on the link supplied.
4.) Magelo has the capability to automatically "read" your characters' stats and items (happens when you login and zone if the Magelo client software is running). In order to access this feature, you have to become a Magelo Premium user - pretty cheap at US$12 per year. Note: you need to be logged into Magelo for the link to work.
How to get get the client software running:
1.) Download the Magelo Update client side software.
2.) Save the downloaded installer to a known location on your computer.
3.) Execute the installer to install Magelo Update program.
4.) Run the Magelo Update program via the Windows Start button, or by creating a shortcut to the program in your Startup folder in the Programs menu.
How to create a character by hand (usually for non-Premium users):
1.) Log in to the Magelo site.
2.) Click the Characters link on the left hand side.
3.) Click the Add a Character button at the top of the screen.
4.) Enter in all the requested data.
5.) Click the Add this Character button.
How to modify wielded equipment by hand (usually for non-Premium users):
1.) Log in to the Magelo site.
2.) Click the Characters link on the left hand side.
3.) Click the Manage his equipment link for the desired character.
4.) Click on the slot that needs to be modified.
5.) Enter a name (or partial name) of the item in the item field.
6.) Click the Proceed button.
7.) Select the desired item from the drop down box.
8.) Click the Proceed button.
9.) When complete, click the Save your equipment link.
How to add inventory (or bank) by hand (usually for non-Premium users):
1.) Log in to the Magelo site.
2.) Click the Characters link on the left hand side.
3.) Click the Manage his inventory (or Manage his bank) link for the desired character.
4.) Add containers by clicking on the slot where the container goes. Enter the name (or partial name) of the container in the item field, and click the Proceed button.
5.) Add items by clicking the container and then the container's slot. Enter the name (or partial name) of the item in the item field, and click the Proceed button.
6.) When done, click the Proceed button.
How to create a character automatically:
1.) Register as a Premium user (see above).
2.) Run the Magelo Update program.
3.) Run Everquest.
4.) Login to the character you want to save on Magelo.
5.) In the Magelo Update program, select Magelo, then Synchronize from the menu.
6.) Check off each character you want to synchronize, enter in your username and password, and click the Synchronize button.
How to create alternate profiles:
1.) This is most easily accomplished if you have your character's completely updated with Magelo (including inventory, wielded equipment and bank).
2.) Log in to the Magelo site.
3.) Click the Characters link on the left hand side.
4.) Click the Manage his alternate profiles link for the desired character.
5.) Click the slot you wish to have a different item for the profile.
6.) If you want to switch it with an item you own, select the first switch option, and click the Proceed button. This will bring up a drop down box of all items for that slot that are owned by your character. Select the desired item, and click the Proceed button.
7.) If you want to switch it with an item you do not own (i.e. this is a wishlist item), select the second switch option, enter in the name (or partial name) of the desired item, and click the Proceed button. Select the item in the drop down box, and click the Proceed button.
8.) When all switches are complete, enter the custom name of your profile in the profile name field, and click the Save button (both are lower left on the web page).
NOTES:
You can hide profiles by checking the "Do not show this profile" box before you save your profile.
You can have multiple profiles. MAKE A RESIST GEAR PROFILE!
You can edit existing profiles by loading them first. This is done by selecting the profile listed, and then clicking the Load button.
Links to a character's public profiles will be shown on the Magelo view profile page for your character.
