Manifesto Discussions
Should we hold a conference type event to discuss the renewal of the manifesto ahead of the Presidential and Dáil Elections next month? We can publish a partisan report of it in the Sunrise and a non-partisan perspective in the Independent when it's done.
@ James: I presume you will stand at this next election for the position as President. Due to the electoral reforms I think you have technically only served one term so far. The ratio of Dáil elections to Presidential ones is now 2:1 of course!

I will stand, if there's no oposition from your good self. I believe you're correct about the number of terms I've served -- I've certainly only been elected once.
Mind you, after a somewhat turbulent and generally uninspiring five months, I'm not convinced I've won over the electorate.

The current manifesto is well completely defunct given the complete change in TT since the DLP was created so that probably would be a good idea. Plus we might also consider a leadership change in the DLP. I haven't really been at the races recently and I feel the DLP may stagnate under my continued leadership.
As an aside I miss the old days when party rivalry was strong. I was a better politician in those days plus TT lacks that vein of tension which added tempo to events.
