Marbh?
Is Talamthom dead? This place is virtually deserted except for what looks to be mostly foreigners.
I like Talamthom, but if this place is dead, then I will have to revoke your MCS membership. I don't wish to do that. But I am being questioned on the legitimacy of current members based on their levels of activity. If this place is alive, consider abandoning Tomann Indochina and focusing on your island instead. By the looks of things, you really need it.

Officially NOT DEAD thanks. Just everyone is quite busy in real life. I am in the final semester of a Masters Degree, and i believe two others doing their undergraduate dissertations.

I know I was poking fun at your "going native" comment as the 'natives' have left!
Anyway do I take it Attera are after the land or something?

I'm personally against 'abandoning' TIC. Virtual or not, we have now made promises (via legislation, no less) to look out for democracy and security in the region, and I've never been keen on going back on my word.
However, we could discuss ceding control of the region to another power, if somebody else is after it? Provided the transfer were completely legal (within the laws of both entities and the MCS), that would probably make it through the Dáil.

Indeed. A proposal like that is sensible if there would be such an interested party and should it be the will of the Tománnach people. I would say though that as a bare minimum that an outpost of sorts be kept there in the name of the Golden Harp.

Attera is no longer alive either. It has also been removed.
TIC sticks out as the only colonised space in an otherwise open area.
I'm trying to scale back the claims of pretty much everyone to more reasonable sizes given the recent moving of the MCS to its own server and the slowdown in the hobby. While Talamthom certainly has one of (if not the) smallest claims, TIC sticks out like a sore thumb. No offense. Check the latest map out via the link in my signature to see what I mean.
It's kinda like the Portuguese settling the deep Amazon before they settled the coastline. It just looks weird.

Heh, it does look a little weird, I'll give you that.
However, I don't think we can allow aesthetics to guide our foreign policy (not to speak for Mr O Ceallaigh here, this is his domain). We could aggressively expand into the surrounding area in order to give ourselves passage to the sea, of course... ;-)
Congratulations on moving to your own server, by the way. I should swing by more often.

Re: Marbh?
Well then how about we move the colony whilst no-one is looking to one of the estuaries? Would that be feasible? Or maybe another location. As a preference I would prefer to keep some small colonial presence in that region but what do you think?
Anyone?

I like the danger of a colony effectively cut off, where the only re-supply comes from Tomann gumboats running up river through enemy territory to the safety of the colony, a la China Station in the tumultuous 20's with the Brits and US Navy.

Well I'll give this some thought. Maybe moving is the best idea. It keeps you, the President, and me all happy. We'll still need boats to get from Talamthom to there anyway Your Majesty so don't worry about trying to flog more boats!!
