Maximoe

Well, too late, since we already have it. Well, not really. I have enough games now that even recommendations of which to play (rather than which to buy) can be useful.

So far, most of my deaths have come from missing a jump, not from combat. I don't know...I'm not one to complain abut games being cheap, but IMO, Maximoe is a bit on the cheap side.

One thing I think is cheap are puzzles or hidden items that involve walls you can walk through.

Actually, Donkey Kong Country 2 has some things like that, and I'm not fond of them, but they're not as bad as they could have been, because they are hinted at in various ways.

Off the top of my head, I can't think of any other things that I consistently consider cheap (although there must be others)

Facilitypro Moderator (8/9/02 1:41 am) Reply	Maximoe I started this a few days ago, and I can't say I'm impressed. It's sort of a weak, 3-D version of any of the "Ghosts" games. So far, it's not really challenging or fun (or should I say, challenging in a fun way, like DMC or MDK 2). You can take a lot of hits, even in your default armor setup (which you can upgrade to take double the amount of hits, BTW). The enemies (so far), are killable in one or two hits, and if you pace yourself, you're only fighting one at a time, so they aren't too much of a problem. THe problem is with the platforming. In a 3-D platforming game, you better have a good camera system. Maximoe doesn't have one. You can adjust the camera behind you, but (to my knowledge) you can't swing it up or down, like you can in MDK 2. This would help because sometimes it looks like you can make a jump, and end up not even making it halfway to the next platform because the camera is at such a flat angle. I've fought one of the four bosses so far, and it was pretty easy. Maybe took me two lives to beat it. All in all, I wouldn't recommend Maximoe.

I don't know if I'd want a game that makes it a hassle to record your progress....
