Methadone?
My COBRA insurances ends in only two months and I have to quickly switch my meds to something I can afford (which ain't much!). I am currently taking 300 mg. Oxycontin, 2 patches 100 mcg. Duragesic every day. My doctor says I'll have to 'be one of those poor souls who are forced to take methadone for pain.' What did he mean by that? Do I have to go to a methadone clinic? Last time I called them they said they wouldn't prescribe the amount that I would need, plus there was a 6 MONTH WAITING LIST. I'm scared to death! IS MY LIFE OVER??????????? IS THERE ONLY ONE WAY OUT????????? Please help if you have suggestions! Also has anyone gotten an independent medical insurance plan that covers opiates right away? What shall I do? I support my mother and son (both in different homes) plus myself. I don't see any light at the end of this tunnel!! HELPPPPP!!!! PLEEEEEASEEEEE!!!!
