Mick Foley the jobber I recently bought a wax box of 1985 Topps WWF cards to replace the ones my 5th grade teacher took (and never gave back). As I was opening up the packs and sorting them out, I found one of Tito Santana pinning a jobber (and they're in a...um...compromising position). Anyway, I think the jobber is a pre-Mankind Mick Foley! It looks just like him. I'll scan the card soon for you guys to see. I remember seeing footage of him as a jobber; he went by the name Jack Foley. But I thought he started in the WWF around 1988. This picture was taken in 1984.

Re: Mick Foley the jobber
I thought the only match he wrestled back then in the WWF was against the Bulldogs.

Re: Mick Foley the jobber No, he definitely wrestled several matches in the WWF as Jack Foley. I don't know why, but I actually remember a few matches with Jack Foley. Don't remember what years they were though. I watched so much wrestling in the 80s that it al starts to blur. Anybody besides me reading Mick's new book? If someone would have told me ten years ago that Cactus Jack (of all people) would be a #1 best-selling author, I would have had them committed. -'Tamer ![]() ![]() "Young lady, stars shine only in the sky, and stars which fall to earth never shine again." --Anubis, Dark Warlord of Cruelty |

Re: Mick Foley the jobber Is this a picure of Tito Santana pinning a young Mick Foley? ![]() And Tamer, I'd love to read Foley's books, but I'm really bad about buying books. Maybe after school gets out I'll check them out. I know I'd get totally engrossed in them.

Re: Mick Foley the jobber Hmm, that might or might not be him. I wish the picture showed his face more. |

Re: Mick Foley the jobber "Anybody besides me reading Mick's new book?" I just bought the book today. I'm taking a trip tomorrow, and I figured it would be a great way to kill time while on the plane. I'll see you guys next week and let you know how I liked the book.

Re: Mick Foley the jobber Have a nice trip, and enjoy the book. I liked it a lot (not quite as much as his first book though), but I've gotta warn you that the last bit of it may come off as a little preachy. After he finshes the main part, the last section has his defense of thew WWF against the PTC and some university study. It's rather shocking and informative, but it may come off a little dry to some. -'Tamer ![]() ![]() "Young lady, stars shine only in the sky, and stars which fall to earth never shine again." --Anubis, Dark Warlord of Cruelty |

Re: Mick Foley the jobber I finished the book a few days ago. It was a very interesting read. Now I gotta buy "Have a Nice Day" for the next plane ride! I thought the last part was fine. If there's only one thing to say about it, it was that Mick did his homework. BTW, I checked out the PTC website. It's really lame. the "Smackdown! episode" section is full of things like "Stone Cold Steve Austin said 'damn,' The Rock said 'ass'..."
