Re: My Website
I sent you header image, new topic button, sticky topic button, and color scheme for background and text, but I am going to have to work on the rest of buttons.
This is fun!

Re: My Website
Quick & Dirty header tutorial:
Open Photoshop
Make a new canvas
Fill it with black
Make a new layer
Change color selection to dark red
Select starburst gradient tool that has color on the inside and fades at the edges.
Click center of the canvas and drag to one of the edges
Make a new layer
Select a slightly lighter red from the color selection
Select a circle shape from the gradient tool (one with fading edges) and click on the middle of the canvas and drag to one of the edges.
Make a new layer
Select light gray
Select shape tool
Select circle tool
Make a circle in the middle of the canvas
Select line tool (3 pixel)
Create lines coming from the circle to the edges of the canvas
Select a round brush (1 or 2 pixel)
Draw "threads" to connect the larger lines
Change the layer opacity for the web to 47%
Make a new layer
Find a cool looking black widow spider on the web and copy it onto a new canvas (Google Image Search: Black Widow Spider)
Use the Magic Wand tool to select and background around the spider and delete.
Copy the spider sans background to your pic (will create a new layer)
Find a pic on the web of neat looking eyes. (Google Image Search: eyes)
Copy it to a new canvas
Use the polygonal lasso tool to select the irises (first one, then the other)
Go to Image > Adjustments > Hue/Saturation
Change the iris from blue to green.
Stare at it and think the pupils are too light now.
Use the Burn tool to darken the pupils.
Stare at it again.
Use the Dodge tool to brighten up the little shine spot.
Use the Eraser tool to get rid of excess skin around the eyes and eyebrows.
Go to Image > Adjustments > Brightness/Contrast
Up the contrast a little bit and make it less bright.
Use the Burn tool to make it look like the eyes are wearing eyeliner and the eyebrows are black.
Decide the eyes are too close together and select one eye and pusher farther from the other.
Copy the edited eyes.
Paste onto work in progress (creates a new layer)
Change the opacity of this layer to 48%
Select the text tool, select a darker red, a neat looking font and change the size of the font to something legible. (Don't remember which one I used)
Type in the first part of the quote - "'Step into my parlor,' said the spider to the fly."
Move it around the picture neurotically looking for the most ascetically pleasing position.
Rasterize the text layer.
Make a new text layer, reduce the font size, type in screen name.
Rasterize that layer.
Merge all layers
Create a copy layer of merged pic.
Right click and go to blending options.
Select Bevel, anti alias, choose the size.
Click OK
Merge all layers
Save as a .gif file
Save as a .jpg file
Compare file sizes
Choose to send the .gif because it's smaller.
THE END.
Ok, so it wasn't that quick..... but it was pretty dirty!

Re: My Website
Gaia,
Thanks for my room decor change! Could you change the part behind the header to black, but leave the part behind the actual posts, this color????
Thank you!
