My path
I think this is the right forum to post this in...
I've always been a pagan. I was born and raised pagan. My mother pledged me to the Goddess at birth. My mother was raised Catholic and chose Wicca. She taught me everything I know.
This is not to say I have not had opportunity to choose another path. My stepfather is Christian. His mother and step-father were Pentacostal preachers. (Off the top of my head, I don't remember the exact meaning of the word "pentacostal", but I do see the "penta-" in there and I think of pentacles and pentagrams and it makes me giggle when thinking of that word in conjunction with Christianity).
During my life, I have sat at the edge of paganism. I have learned basics from my mother and use them in day-to-day life, but I never took the time to really delve into the mystery. At this point in my life, my interest is growing. (I blossomed late  )
I don't have a specific coven or sect of Wicca that I follow. Moreover, my mother's specific flavor tends to borrow rites and practices from every spiritual walk and incorporate them as she sees fit. I do this as well, but to a lesser extent.
As I said before, I know basics....but not specifics. I am always interested in learning more. I definitely think this is a wonderful place to start. In the threads I have read so far, I have seen some I know and much I have to learn.

so your probably an eclectic wiccan. I think we have 1 or 2 of those flying about some where! 
Ask question, share answers.... thats why we are here. when we post thought probing questions, jump in no matter how silly urr opinon may seem to you... it will probably make sense to others! Anything else you would like to know about that isnt posted ask... we have off the top of my head 5 witchess (me included) not counting yourself plus native spiriualist (for lack of a better term) christian spiritualist and alot of Popeyes ( "I am what I am") Be who you are and dont force yourself into a mold...thats the one rule here (side from respecting the beleifs of others)

I guess I'm a "popeye". My beliefs are wide and varied,with much emphasis on learning as much as possible from everyone.I try to respect everyones beliefs(which aint easy with those darn Christians LOL).
But seriously,I think it's wonderful that you were raised the way you were,I wish my family had been more open.I have one question,though.How in the world did you wind up with a pentacostal step-dad?I only ask because I've known a few pentacostals,and they were all very judgemental(one even told me I was going to hell because I didnt wear a bra).
And,I totally agree with Gaia,I'm glad you've joined our family.

I love having amanda here...have you checked out her personal site? she has some lovely dollz for sigs....i like her lil green fairy!!! i wanna put Gaia on it n use it!! add a few sparkles of course

I think shes blending in so well

You know, it's really odd...
My mother planned my birth and my character to a tee after reading Aleister Crowley's Moonchild. Part of the reason she was with my step-father was because he had qualities she wanted to instill in me. Granted he lots of bad qualities, but living with him has helped me have a cool head in a crisis and just about be ready for anything life throw's my way.
And the thing with him...His mother was a witch (Although she would NEVER admit it). She had a way to make you feel it when she prayed for you. He had it too! As a child, he predicted things and they came true. He talked to ghosts. The whole shebang. Because he had seen and done some weird stuff in his life, he was more open to discussing it with Mom. I can remember him reading about it too. But he continued to be a Christian and would go to church (and drag me along too) whenever he could.

Gaia, if you like, I can make a doll for you especially. I, personally, am not as happy with the green fairy doll as I am with the later dolls. I did that straight from a tutorial on the internet, but the later dolls are my own style.

I guess you can say that the path I walk is severely to the left...
I am a hereditary witch, but at the time I was growing up my immediate family were Catholics. I began actively delving into paganism/wicca at the age of 10. Precocious little bugger, wasn't I?
I was called to my present belief system around the age of 17. My primary Goddess avatar has always been the Dark Lady/Crone aspect.
I say hereditary because not only was my paternal grandmother a clairsentient/clairvoyant with an angel guide, but I am descended from Rasputin on that side of the family.
Though many Christians and Pagans alike consider the Dark Aspect to be evil, I have never found Her so and work very well with Her. "Dark" doesn't necessarily mean evil. I don't do animal (I LOVE animals and they love me) or human sacrifices or anything like that. I am just not drawn to the lighter, flowery aspects. They do not call to me. And I was LITERALLY CALLED.
Basically, I am eclectic and can work in virtually any milieu. My style of practice is definitely not orthodox! And I very seldom go through all the motions of a by-the-book ritual circle, etc.
My daughter follows much the same style and we work very well together. I just wish she had been more interested when she was younger!

My way of thiinking?
Without night, there cannot be day, light and dark are halves of a whole with grey areas where they combine. Only with both halves can we truly have a whole. Even the mother moon has a dark face... this does not make the moon evil. You work in the dark and I in the light...together we gaurd the whole
I would love if you can write an article on left handed paths for this board.
