Next project(Finished- pics added)
My next proect is the spotter for my sniper. I began with the BBI Freedom Force 82nd AB figure. The chest was reduced using the methods in "SPEC Figures". The head was given a base coat of flesh tone acryllic, and finished with oils.
Nicely done! Where can I find more of the info about "Spec Figures"? Is that a magazine? Definately keep us up to date on your progress. I checked out your site and was highly impressed with your work. My focus is modern figures as well, and I definately like the work you've done.
Re: Next project
Joel, The book I'm referring to is "SPEC Figures- 1/6 styling manual". It is almost entirely in Japanese. There are some English parts, mainly the lists of gear used in the figures. Here's the URL for the "SPEC Figures" site- SPEC figures
I got the book from Amazon.com in Japan for about $31 and it took about a week to get here. The order info is down near the bottom of the page under the English info.
Re: Next project
Rangr 504, you really missed out. Sam drove down from Austin for the Sunday Meet. He brought 7 or 8 outstanding customized figures for the S&T section of the meeting, took pictures of the Tank Obstacle course, and brought his son Jacob along, too. Sam is now our newest local member.
Re: Next project
Darn I wish I could have been there. I went out of town for a job interview that ended up keeping me over the weekend. Sure wish I could have been there.

OUTSTANDING! He's just as good as his fellow sniper. I'm truly sorry that I missed the meeting and the opportunity to welcome you and your son to our lil family. Unfortunately, I had a job interview out of town that carried over into the weekend. I hope you both had a great time and enjoyed yourselves. I look forward to meeting you in the future. Thank you again for the pics and can't wait to see more of your work!!
