But in the 1/6th-scale toy world, its pretty big: Barbie and Ken are splitsville in the valley of the dolls. On Friday the 13th, 2004, one day before Valentines Day, Mattel made the announcement. The AP quoted a Mattel spokeswoman as saying the long-time couple "will remain friends." Barbie Millicent Roberts and Ken met on a commercial shoot in a studio in 1961. Barbie is probably looking for a guy who is a little more articulate.
