Oliver North was the "action officer" within Reagan's National Security Council for the most highly classified programs of the Reagan Administration and the current Administration's capacity for leak-proof secrecy makes it difficult to expose the secret plots that are invariably hatched by people who are as arrogant as Rumsfeld, Cheney and North are, but the condition of world affairs is a good indicator of all their handiwork.

You are absolutely right. The government spends millions of dollars to protect fanatics like Oliver North, and they are evidently the criminals who plot regime change around the world.
The flip side of course, is that they plot terrorist attacks, to make heroes out of failed leaders.
