Mr Garine, you ran the Dáil during the last term, so you can imagine my surprise at your lack of participation at the moment. I realise that Talamthom may have become a little 'stale' of late,
It's been a long moment. As your DLP colleague and former President O'Ceallaigh has known for some time, I am almost completely tied up with other commitments. Staleness is not why I disappeared.
On the whole, delaying the election for so long really set Talamthom back. Elections are critical moments for democratic republics. When they don't happen, things definitely get stale on the mass level.

but in the current situation there is a good deal of work to do,
Last I checked, the Statute Book is already down.

which means more debate and more interest in general. The Dáil has not yet been filled (see LCJ Gladstone's post here), so there is still the chance to participate in a ministerial capacity.
I probably will not be able to fill the TREF seat for some time. Contact me on AIM if you want to speak further about this.

I am also keen to see the political Left of Talamthom work together to further their mutual interests and play a larger part in the government of the nation,
The EZboard crisis blew our merger talks to pieces. I would like to see unification proceed nonetheless.

as we appear something of a one-party state at present.
We are a one-party state. The Left's presidential candidate garnered 2 votes.
Then again, aren't you also the Left? The "democratic" Left? That's how you marketed the DLP. Weren't we all about
"red tape" and "extremism"?
I sincerely hope things turn up. We need to make sure our elections happen on schedule in the future. And maybe some of my time will free up.
Garine.
